I remember the uproar when Tibbetts was acquired. My fiance at the time, who was a huge Flyers fan, had been a victim of abuse, and she lost her mind when they picked him up.
He was convicted of statutory rape of a 15 year old when he was 17. And then spent 39 months in prison 3 years later for witness intimidation and assault and battery.
A real prize winner this one was. - MBFlyerfan
Yup, as I already said, a complete and total scumbag.

Kyle Calder was actually a name that could allegedly play the game a little bit. There were actually expectations for Calder when he got here, which he fell woefully short of. - johndewar
Chicago had to use him as a 1st-line scoring option back in the day... along w/ Mark Bell and Tyler Arnason. Man, have they come a long way since.

haha, Mark Bell. Didn't the Flyers have some guy named Bell in the mid to late 00's? I think someone made a joke about putting him on a line with David Laliberte and having La Liberty Bell line. |

I think Mark Bell was the apple of Clarkie's eye once upon a time, but he ended up in Toronto instead. |

Bell played with maximum truculence. Plus he was a big forward.
In other words, Clarke likely tried to have this guy legally adopted. |

Can you imagine what the doctor bills for Rathje, Hatcher, and Stevenson were like? |

I would do it. I dont care about Schenn, Read is Read, Morin is unproven. You have to give to get. Weber is a stud. |

You're right, that wouldn't work.
I'd also throw in Ed Snider's 4th trophy wife, Bernie Parent's boat, and an 11-pack of Amstel Light personally autographed by Steve Coates.
/It's an 11 pack because Coatsey gets thirsty signing autographs |

Yowza.
You also have to give to suck in 3 seasons, like the Phillies.
So, I vote not compromising the future (in picks and young players) for one guy. |

I see your point. Weber will be around at least another decade though. Read and Schenn can be replaced rather easily IMO |

You know the minute he pulls on that Flyers sweater, his chances of experiencing a career-debilitating concussion/knee/hip/groin/back/foot issue goes up exponentially, right? |

Imagine a roster where Pronger and Weber are both on LTIR. |

Agreed, that Jim McCrossin would ruin Weber's career here. |
