I would also toss in a lightly used, game held Riley Cote hockey stick. And by "game held", I mean, it was in hands when he dropped his gloves to fight, but never used to play the puck.

Ok, I can do that, however work just got a little busy and I have the hardest worker list ready to go. So I'll do the skaters a little later in the week.

THE FLYERS TOP 10 HARDEST WORKING PLAYERS OF ALL TIME!

1. Bobby Clarke
No one I ever saw, in any sport, worked harder than Clarke. He would kill himself to win a game, let alone a Stanley Cup. He set the standard for everyone who ever wore and will ever wear the orange and black.

2. Barry Ashbee
Played the entire 73-74 season with a crippling neck injury that no doctor today would ever let anyone play with. It took a puck to the eye to knock this guy out of the lineup. Little known fact: He almost retired prior to the 72-73 season, because he felt that some of the players weren’t working hard enough. His death to leukemia was a tragedy and he will always be remembered by Flyer fans!

3. Bill Barber
Clarke’s line mate played through excruciating knee pain for much of his career, yet he always gave 100% each and every shift. Best Flyers winger of all time IMO. His toughness and work ethic were never more evident when he continued to do his job as Flyer’s coach while his wife was dying of cancer.

4. Dave Poulin
Another true warrior. His return in game 7 vs the Isles in 87 with broken ribs was just amazing and the roof almost blew off the Spectrum when he hit the ice. Poulin was the perfect choice of captain following Clarke!

5. Ian Laperierre
Lappy wasn’t here long, sadly, but man, what an impression he made!! Talk about giving up your body for the team, Lappy was more than happy to use his face to block a shot if that’s what it took to win a game. I am thrilled that he is on the Flyers coaching staff and working on their pk and with their younger players.

6. Kimmo Timonen
The little Finnish warrior is all heart. Plays through pain, plays the tough minutes and never ducks the hard questions as well. If every guy on the current squad played as hard as Kimmo Timonen, they would be unstoppable.

7. Paul Holmgren
Yet another guy who often played through crippling pain. Sensing a pattern here yet? Homer was tough as nails, even as a coach, just ask Mike Bullard! He was always willing to do whatever it took to lead the Flyers to victory.

8. Mark Howe
Most people remember Howe for his smooth skating, all world skill and fine defense. But what many folks don’t know, is that Howe managed to do all of this, and also play around 30 minutes per night, while suffering from horrible back pain. Yet thru it all, he never took a shift off.

9. Shjon Podein
While not blessed with a boatload of natural talent, no player during the Lindros era worked harder than Podein. He was one of Clarke’s best free agent signings and he truly left it all on the ice.

10. Rod Brind’amour
Trading him for Keith Primeau still bothers me today. Brind’amour not only worked as hard as a mule, but he was talented and could play in any situation against any line.

His workout routine was an oddity for its time in an era where players used camp to get into shape. For people my age who didn't know the pre-90's teams, he was the hardest working player I've ever seen, no disrespect to the rest.

Ive declined to smash many a face because Ive needed to play. Last time I did punch someone in the face I fractured two knuckles. Playing guitar was a torturous exercise in pain tolerance one would have to experience to actually believe.
