I did read he had a filter put in his inferior vena cava to prevent further clots reaching the lungs, but did not know they let him play hockey while taking blood thinners... seems dangerous

Sad news for kimmo. But if we rush one of these new kids I think I'm sitting this season out. Honestly who cares what our d looks like this season. We have o chance at the cup. So he took the injectable form of the drug every day. I suppose that would work because if he had an injury with bleeding, the drug is metabolized out of the body quickly, compared to the oral med which lasts ~5 days (but can be reversed). Still in hockey it is a crazy risk to take.

No way in hell we enter the season with this current defense. Could we?????
