Yep, it's a one year deal. if he can't rebound, you let him walk. If the team is struggling and out of the playoffs and he's not in the future plans, they might be able to dump him at the TDL.

And if he does rebound and play like he did a couple years ago, he could be a pretty nice reclamation project

With teams like philly these deals are perfect. The flyers could be in or out of a playoff Spot by the trade deadline. If they are in and MDZ is playing well then great. If they are out trade him for a pick from a te desperate for some offense on the back end.

Sucks that it took such a bad health situation to Timonen to give him a shot. This is Timonen's second incident with blood clots, after Vokoun missing last season, you have to wonder if he's at the end of the road as a player.
