Besides maybe Pronger, I can't think of a defenseman in the past twent-five years whose mere presence on the ice made opposing players intimidated to even go up the middle or into corners. - KGBflyers10
Thats true and you likely never will again. The way they played would never fly in today's game. |

with the departure of top-line left wing Scott Hartnell, Schenn could be in the running to move up to the first line. He played there a bit last season and could be a candidate to play alongside Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek on a more permanent basis this season.
"There's a few candidates," Hextall said. "It's going to be up for grabs. Craig makes the decisions there. That spot, there's nobody that's played enough there to say I'm the guy. There's a spot open there and I'm sure a lot of guys will be hungry for it." |

A question to my fellow flyers fans.
Would you rather make playoffs this year and have another early exit or miss playoffs and have a chance at a top 5/7 pick?
Me personally I don't believe in tanking but the realist in me says we are in a holding pattern until a num 1 dman can be either squired or devolved. We hav a few in the system who look like they could be that but are at least 4 years from hopefully becoming that. While we are really young team it is clear we are not contenders. While playoffs are exciting if we reach the cup can we honestly compete with the chicagos Boston's and las of the league? No with this d core it's unrealistic. The offense is young enough to still devolve while still adding high end prospects. I say play hard and compete but this draft is so deep and talented I want a top 5 pick. Eichel IMO is my pick but he won't be there after num 2. This franchise needs another superstar and this is the draft to get him. Whether its on d or up front. |

Holy hell, please let the phrase "Schenn-Lecavalier-Simmonds" never be used again, either -- on the goal that was rated an 8 for MacDonald's fault, Vinny was straight-up puckwatching in the high slot while Schenn was pursuing the puck on the high side.
Now, I don't know which of them should've been down low. But I'm gonna go out on a limb and say ONE of them should've been, considering the puck was beneath them both in the zone!

He played a bit w/ Rinaldo in London...
He doesn't play here anymore, but he's supposedly tight w/ Eminger. Stamkos was his BFF in his junior days. |

I found the whole exercise annoying. As if AMac was the only guy on the ice. I felt the writer was trying to find a reason for each goal to be the result of something MacDonald did.

Why stop at 5/7?
Eichel/Giroux/Voracek would be pretty nifty. |

Because I think that is more realistic. Buffalo Florida peg are prob top 3 without even really thinking about it. I would love num 1/2 but just don't see it unless giroux mason get injured. |

I'm not a fan of tanking but it's pretty clear the elite teams are built by sucking for years and drafting top 5 year after year. Phillies last top pick was jvr and I believe he was the highest selection in Philly history. Pitt Chicago la and even Edmonton though not nearly as good have all been terrible and now look at their rosters. |

I think Schenn must have called "switch!" and then proceeded to get completely left in the dust by Brunner, hence throwing his head up in futility after the puck went in. |
