Not sure the Coyotes are a lock for the playoffs, but I think they are a very respectable team, and they have had a productive summer.
Anyway, this was a million times more fun to read than a a bunch of graphs and Corsi stats! |

Every time I read something like that, i get insecure - Sabresfan-365
Its silly, Buffalo is pretty much the ONLY team that's assured a shot at him. Everyone else in the league is in a situation where if things go well they could compete for a playoff spot. |

Not if the players in that system are ready to push and move into the NHL. Then you can reasonably include them in the depth. - Ragingpikey
So for Detroit can we include Sproul, Ouellet, Marchenko, and Backman for depth? |

I would never do that. Those terms are asinine.
I laid out my reasons already. Just tell me why I'm wrong. - James_Tanner
also dont make a guarantee on your team if you are not willing to back it up. If you have that much faith to write a fan boy blog why dont you back it up with a fan boy bet |

Not unless those guys having been pushing or are about ready to graduate. Summers, Gormely, etc. have been getting cups of coffee and pushing for a spot for a few years. Sproul, Oullet, and Marchenko broke into the AHL last year. It's a little different in my mind. |

Unfortunately even if we do finish last, someone will finish 2nd last, 3rd last and so on.
I hate the lottery, until 3 years from now when I think tanking is bad |

Nothing wrong with Tanking. It's a strategy to build a winning franchise, like many others. And like others, it doesn't ensure anything. Like other, you can do it well and you can do it poorly. I think Buffalo is WELL on the way to having a legit team. Love Girgenson's, Reignhart, and that depth. Slowly move out the chaff over the next few years and you'll a cup contender…unlike Vancouver |

I don't see a single sabres prospect on D who even has the chance - let alone the probability - of being as good as OEL.
Obviously, the Sabres are amassing a good stockpile of young players, but the Coyotes guys are all NHL ready and it appears that they could dress a top 6 this year that includes 3 top pairing guys and 3 second pairing guys.
I don't think the Coyotes match up against anyone on just potential, I think they have the best 1-6 D in hockey. Defense is so important in the NHL that only a horrible year of goaltending can stop them from making the playoffs. - James_Tanner
That's one player.
We have a guy who's won the Calder
Two studs who are ranked among the top 20 NHL prospects in Ristolainen and Zadarov
And two very steady top 4 prospects in Pysyk and Jake McCabe who was the captain of the US world junior team
We are absolutely loaded on D. |

Hmmm, you like Tatar better than Nyqvist? Well if you do, then making a move would make sense given that I would assume most of the league likes Nyqvist better no? - Ragingpikey
I like Tatar, Jurco, Mantha, Pulkkinen and probably Athanasiou over Nyquist. Not saying he is bad but I don't see him improving much more. He is small and plays a perimeter game. The play that sums up why I like Tatar more was against Boston and can be found here at 2:37

sure but if you are that confident in your claim, does it really matter what the bet it.
Plus Tanner is a Leafs Fan at heart, it would be easy for him to write reason why they should move |

James if Doan is the 3rd line RW who is the #1 & 2?
Doan is the #1. Erat #2 & who might actually be the #3 might be a mystery. |

Spezza is overrated on ateam with already a legit number one center?
Dallas has a vastly superior goaltender and where they fall short is on defense.
Otherwise I would put my money on Dallas over Arizona everyday of the week.
As for Anaheim....a two player team? Their back up is superior to Smith. Their defense is not terrible. But their forward depth is tremendous. |

I appreciate your loyalty, but respectfully, you are full of poop. The Coyotes are not laughing stock because they are poor and lose. The Leafs are laughing stock because they are rich, lazy and lose. See the difference? A team never gets chastised when they put in the effort; and PHOENIX puts in the effort.....And if you think they are going to finish ahead of the Ducks and the Avs, you'd better buy a soft cushion for your hard landing. |

OVerated is maybe the wrong term. If you take OEL and Doughty out, I like Phoenix' group better than LAs. LA has a good D, but I think its worse than any of those listed. - Ragingpikey
Disagree 100% id take LA's still any day. |

Not sure how you can reasonably state that Phoenix's D isn't in the conversation for top D groups in the NHL. Unless you undervalue OEL, Yandle, etc. If you do then sure, you can make the argument. I would disagree. - Ragingpikey
I dont get where you see value in these guys yes OEL is really gd outside of that no one is that impressive over any other nhl team. Yandles -30 is a good point in how the Phx D is flawed they need a two way player not offensive guy like yandle playing those miniets. They have been try to deal Yandle for years now and no one will pay the price cause hes not worth it. Point wise hes not much better then Franson. |

Look, I know you're a borderline Troll, so I do hesitate to answer this, but objectively, you can't call what I wrote a "Fan Boy Blog" because it logically breaks down why I think the team will make it - it's entirely based on reason and logic and nothing I wrote - outside of perhaps the title - is in anyway "fanboyish" unless you just think anything positive is that. Seriously, if you read the blog, it's a point by point dissertation on why the Coyotes are better than you think. |
