First PP D man almost doesnt even matter. They are just there to cycle the puck with G who is trying to get Jake open. G is the real QB of that unit.
Our PP has become incredibly predicable btw. I'm surprised it still works. - hereticpride
I would disagree there. Timonen handled the puck well. But I think that adding Streit's big shot will make the PP better, and give them more options.
Every team's PP is predictable. Ovechkin led the NHL last season in PP goals. I think everybody in the arena knows that Backstrom is going to try and feed Ovechkin. But it still works.

I doubt Dellow's professional conduct is the same as his blogging/tweeting persona... the guy was a lawyer working in a firm 9 to 5. I'm sure he understands that it's a different ball of wax and he'll have to comport himself in a certain fashion to fit into the culture.
As for the "enemies"... yikes. - Tomahawk
90% of the slams on his site were directed at the Oilers. I think it speaks volumes that the organization he trashed was who hired him.
That or they're silencing one of their biggest critics. It has been a year since his first presentation, they took their time hiring him. |

Well yes, but I think the manner in which the Flyers set up the PP is becoming very predicable. G on the high boards playing toss with Kimmo until a lane opens up for G to shoot or pass to Jake. I guess as long as it works I cant complain but really you're just going to see teams start applying more pressure on Giroux.
Whoever is likely to replace Kimmo will probably be an upgrade. Streit, MDZ and AMac probably have better range to field a pass than Kimmo at this stage of his career. I would say each of those guys has a decent shot as well. Kimmo never really seemed like he wanted to take the shot. Not sure how much of that was coaching and how much of that was him though... |

Several flat out said there was nothing useful to be gained from early-generation of analytics that still get cited the most frequently (Corsi, Fenwick, etc) that they couldn't already observe with their own two eyes. - bmeltzer
I'm not big on those two stats as such, but I think there are stats that could be developed that I wouldn't mind taking a look at. The thing is they might be very arbitrary in terms of what does and doesn't fit the criterion. |

Hmm, NHL team decides to pay me to work for them and stop writing critical blogs? Yeah, I'd sell out, too.

For a EL contract, plus bonuses, why the Hell not?
If he sucks, it's $900K or so, depending on the structure and if he's good and earns the bonuses, it's great for the team on ice. |

yeah, things lie the white deal don't bother me. this is the time of year for two way contracts.
I know he has issues, but a guy like Penner unsigned is amazing. even more amazing is that someone wanted Riberio and his reported issues and no one will take penner and his chub |
