I'm simply giving my impression of Hextall, as are others, and I honestly couldn't possibly care less about your opinions or the problems you have with statements made by other posters. - Jsaquella
What are those impressions based on? What basis is there for stating that he wouldn't have made certain deals? There is none! It's pure baseless speculation. Hextall was the assistant GM when MacDonald was acquired. How do we know that he wasn't fully on board with both the trade the re-signing?

I'm looking at his IMDB page and I can't pick a favorite role. Good Morning Vietnam, Dead Poets, Mrs Doubtfire, one Hour Photo, Awakenings...even smaller roles, like the crazy butcher from Dead Again...he was just incredible - Jsaquella
I usually don't care about celebrities but this guy was awesome. One of the few people who could actually make you laugh just on his own without a script.
Hook to me, was the movie I will remember him in, but the stand-up stands on its own. |

Moscow on the Hudson as the defecting sax player from the Moscow Circus, defecting in a department store where they were going to get Bloo Jeeennz and Dekadence
And the saga of him finding his way in New York as a foreigner among so many other foreigners finding their way there. The irony of the KGB guy assigned to the Circus being the hot dog vendor at the end of the movie who also later defected
Sigh, RIP Mr Williams |

Yep, Garp was incredible. Just a staggering talent. I keep seeing people tweet stuff that he did that they loved and it runs the gamut- |

if you haven't seen "the best of times", do yourself a favor and watch it. not a great movie in any particular sense, but RW is terrific, and the plot is amusing. plus it's sports related, so there's that. |

That was good. For me its Dead Poets.
Also as sappy as it is he was really good in that movie where his wife died and was stuck in some void between heaven and hell. can't remember the name of the movie.

He's not perfect but i think he was FAR from a bad GM - moylander
I don't think he was a bad GM either... pretty much par for the course by NHL standards. |

He wasn't. I think his legacy would be vastly different had Pronger not had his career ended. Of course, when you make a trade of that magnitude, you're pushing all your chips into the pot...
We may never see a GM with the sheer balls Homer had to make big bold deals. |
