Looks like some chic from the Red Wings is the new host of the Isles pre and post game shows. They must have fired Ruttgaiser. Her name is Shannon Hogan I believe - Vukota
Dee's next blog:
"Why the Islanders made a tremendous mistake in firing Peter Ruttgaizer"
Today the New York Islanders made a monumental mistake firing pre/post-game host, Peter Ruttgaizer. Peter was a tremendous talent and a super nice guy. I remember one time I was running late (Southern State traffic, shocking news right LOL) and I ran past Peter on my way to the NYI Blog Box and he said "Hurry up Dee they haven't dropped the puck yet but they're close" LOL I nearly died, I mean...what a guy.
Peter was a tremendous talent and I think Garth and Charles will regret letting him go in the long run. I wish him the best on whatever burger-flipping venture he embarks on next.
edit: As several readers have pointed out Peter was employed by MSG, not the Islanders. derrrrp.

He was a really good player in the AJHL, went pro in 12-13... nothing special as far as his numbers.. he could be a good addition to Bridgeport.

Islanders Players Complete ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, but is it worth it?
I've been silent on this matter the past few weeks because I didn't want to stir the pot too much, but I cannot stay silent any longer. Sure ALS, also known as Joe DiMaggio's Disease, is bad and everything...but is it worth it for the Islanders to continue to allow their players, even superstars, to keep risking injury all in the name of a silly viral charity movement? What if John Tavares sustained a concussion from a poorly broken-up chunk of ice? Will Isles' fans be laughing then? What if Calvin deHaan slipped on an ice cube, fell, and re-injured his shoulder? We all know that's a possibility. Will you be "liking" that video? What if Travis Hamonic is introduced to a state of hypothermia, causing him to miss the start of camp? Is that worth it, Islander fans? Is it?
What I'm trying to say is that, while charity is good and all, maybe we should leave the silly videos to the fans and just let the players donate. Tune in next week for updates pertaining to Islanders merchandise on sale in various stores around the Island |
