Guys, it's not that it's entirely bad signing a bottom pairing d-man to a big deal- sometimes you have to overpay if you think a guy puts you over the top- I just think it was a poor decision to sign Amac to that deal when the team already has several bloated contracts.

So, what you're saying is that Andrew MacDonals is the worst defenseman in the NHL? Just so that we're clear.

I think we can all agree that we've come to these conclusions:

1) The Flyer's D is middling at best right now.

2) There's a lack of flexibility to fix it due to a couple of already bloated contracts and

3) Signing MacDonald was probably not the smartest decision because of said contracts and the inherent risk of signing a guy that the numbers suggest is a perpetual drag.
