He's a member of the "get tossed around like a rag doll in your own zone" brigade. - PLindbergh31
Also of the "illegally get checked into your own goaltender when you're not near the puck" brigade.
If only he was Shea Weber or Drew Doughty, guys who have never made mistakes ever and are impossible to get the puck from. |

Nichuskin for Rinaldo and a 2016 2nd - jmatchett383
I wouldn't give more than a 4th. They're already getting the god of war Rinaldus. |

Anyone else surprised there have been no changes to the scouting dept. Also has not hired a stat geek that I know of even though he's given lip service to the analytical area of the game.
Just thought we'd hear about a couple changes by now since the draft is over. Only thing was the change to the coaching staff which might have been berubes call - Just5
Do all scouts/consultant/supplementary staff hires tend to hit the news? I guess what I'm saying is, the Flyers could have made changes that we don't know about (yet).
Most of the stats hires are usually done in secret anyway... for example, it's been a month+ and still no word on which team hired Eric Tulsky. The hoopla around the Dubas and Dellow hirings are more the exception than the rule. |

Maybe AMac is doing double duty as defenseman and stat guru. |

if it wasn't for Gange helping them out of the basement, they'd have Nichushkin rather than the bust. |

For Nichuskin, I'd even toss in that Matt Ellison autographed card someone had up earlier. |

I'd say no, they don't all hit the news.
If you're hiring a guy like Dellow, who made a name for himself among media types and on social media, they yeah.....that's gonna make news and become a bit of navel gazing amongst certain circles of hockey writers.
Also, teams do record stats that are proprietary. After all, if a team feels like it's realizing some sort of arbitrage situation from a shortcoming in the market, why would they share it with everyone? |

Another item on this point: I'm sure collection and crunching of this data can be contracted out to the right consulting firm (with proper NDAs in place, of course). You don't have to hire a "stat guy". You could have a consulting agreement in place to provide data on an as needed basis. |

I'm still so curious as to who hired Tulsky. I'm going to miss reading his stuff, he's a smart guy. |

No need to have pencil pushing stat geeks in today's NHL. All that data is useless. The naked eye sees everything. |

I pray nightly that it's the Flyers...
Chief and Hexy have both been uttering some Tulskian adages this summer... maybe that's a subtle sign that they got him. |

Why do people assume they don't already have people (multiple people) doing their analytics and video review? I'm sure every club has someone doing it. I don't even think the Dubas signing is nearly as big of a deal as the Canadian media is making it out to be. It was Shanahans first hire pretty much and everyone wants it to be a change in "culture" up there. He's the assistant GM. He's not even a stats guy. He employs them.

I was 99% certain that they were going to draft him. I just think he'll end up being the best value pick of the draft, as much as I know you like Morrissey. Dude has a cannon, just needs to fill out a little bit more. |
