I know some guys who're putting together a database of minor hockey advanced stats... and he's not looking too good.

No. He WILL reach that, the fan base will remain unsatisfied that he is not without flaw and will pick his game apart. Management will finally give in to the fans and get a Lindros-esque return for him. At that point, seeing him on another team, the fans will complain, "Why didn't the play like that for us?"
