Say we end up with the 1st pick, and grab McDavid.

Then the Islanders end up with the 8th-12th pick (which is then ours, of course) and the Blues end up with the 17th-24th pick, per se (which, again, is ours).

Would the Isles, Blues, both 2nds and a blue chipper on D be enough to grab the 2nd pick from whoever, allowing us to draft both studs?

As a rule, I like to stay away from those.

Those tend to be good players who had great years, rather than great players. Now, if they end up with a pick in the 8-12 range (Islanders), it's a different story.

HIs role will drastically change this year as he will no longer be on the third line. He may end up taking over for Andre Burakovsky's lw spot along side MC D. HEs a player who can play all 3 phases of the game and would be a great addition IMO

I would assume it is because everyone is grasping at straws to know what's going on. Even though there is a full non-disclosure agreement. People want to know and want to find every reason to talk about the sale?

Got a chance to watch him on tv a couple times last year, I think he's the real deal. Accomplished quite a bit at just 16 years old, if he can take that next step it wouldn't shock me to see him in the conversation for #2 with Eichel.

My point was even if that wasn't true, the reason this group would be taken seriously is because of the media's hunger for controversy especially with something this big.

However, with the news that this team is pegula's to lose, it may not be as big of a deal especially since I can't imagine many people thought they
a) had a good shot
b) would even have the support necessary to make the move happen.

i think you keep both of those picks.... look at 2003 tim murray worked the magic in the picks 19 and up. a mceichel, samson and ennis can hold down the middle also dont sell out on grigo.

Murray was director of player personnel in 03, not sure he had much say (if any) in the picks made by Anaheim that year.
