Pavelski played third line last year and managed those points. THis year burns goes on the blueline and Pavelski comes to the first line with Thornton. Anyone playing with thonrton, and the sharks PP will not cause Pavelski to regress. I'd be willing to bet he hits 40 goals this year |

Pavelski was 2nd in the league in PP goals and tied for 5th in the league with 31 PP points last year. He was also 2nd on the sharks in ice time among forwards, ahead of Thornton.
I admit I only caught 3-4 sharks games last year, but with that high shooting percentage last year, sure seems like scaled back projections are not unreasonable.
Is there someone on the Sharks ready to replace Boyle on the PP? |

I agree with Steen and Sharp. Pavelski however I think can still be a 70 pt player. |

No franking way. If anyone in the league is going to regress, it will be:
James Neal - No Malkin, no more standing in one spot waiting for onetime pass.
Alex Steen - Had one great year, has to prove he can do it again.
Mark Giordano - Same as Steen
Scott Hartnell - Guy had only 20 goals and 52 points playing with a PPG playmaker
There are a lot of new guys in the league that had big years that will need to prove they are the real deal. Mackinnon, Schwartz, Zuccerello, Reilly Smith, Nitchuskin ect
Jagr (Long shot) - Guy is a beast but at 43, you have to wonder when his body is no longer able to take the strain of a full season. |

I suppose Burns will be the replacement. But Sharks are ugly on the blueline i think. Burns is good but i find his a defensive liability. Vlasic is a sold D and scary to think we kept bozo Demers - not worth ice time, let along 3.4 M |

But won't that just mean he has to play harder defenseman in addition to repeating his 22% shooting rate? Seems unlikely to me, but it's not impossible, he's a great player. |

I used to wonder that about Jagr, ten years ago. Now I just assume he is an inhuman freak who can play until he's 50.

I think he will go through a huge drop soon. Either this year or next year. |

That was me that pointed it out (twice). A 104 PDO is just too crazy not to regress though. Still if Landeskog has a 55-60P season playing a great 2way game that's fantastic.
Price jumped from a .905 last season to a .927 this year. Don't think it's unfair to think he won't repeat those numbers. Mason had a good year and I think he's a sh*t goalie. Varlamov's another guy with a huge jump like Price (.903-.927) but I do think he's a good goalie. Bishop's only got 1 year as a starter under his belt so who knows - TheNugeIsHuge
Price might regress slightly but he's a career .915 save percentage so the jump to .927 from .905 doesnt entirely paint a fair picture. I think he comes in over .920 for the next season |

Well pavelski played the point with boyle on the first pp unit. and was always on the first pair of forwards on the pk. and if it was a 5on3 pk, you bet it was pavelski was the lone forward on the ice. and when the game was on the line in the last minute, guarantee pavs is out there in the last minute. so that accounts for his high ice time. not mention hes SJs best shoot out guys and top 5 face off man in the league.
I doubt hes going to fall off a cliff as a hockey play. he may not score 40 goals again. but if playes the same as he has for the past 6 years, id pencil him in for about 30-35 goals and about 65-70 points |

That's what I would expect too, a slight drop off in production.
edit: My beer soaked memory tells me Pavelski-Thornton-Burns was a common line against the yotes last year. Was that a common trio? If yes, who takes Burns spot on that line? To me that's a guy I would expect to have a big year. |
