So if Reinhart (it's possible) and Zadorov stay in juniors, next years traverse city tournament could see them, one of McDavid/Eichel and another high pick (Isles)?
On top of the depth we'll have? |

I am probably dumb, but why wouldn't Reinhart be able to play next year if he stays on the team?
Is eligibility based on games played? |

I actually have no clue about the rules for this tournament, he very well could play in it next year even if he sticks with the team this year which would be awesome. I feel bad for the other teams in the tournament in 2015. |

Especially if we get one of (or bonus, both) Mcdavid and Eichel.
FWIW: The Sabres appear to have a top-5 ranked logo per The Hockey News. Unless reading is much harder than I am making it and overlooked them. |

That's what I am thinking too, but too lazy to look up the requirements for the tournament |

what's he projecting out as, fitz? - Michael Pachla
Tough to say IMO
He's really only had one good season of college hockey, and it was on a powerhouse team playing on a line w Johnny Gaudreau (he could make me look good too, haha)
Good bloodlines with his brother
My guess would be a 20-25goal power forward type if he pans out
Although he seems to have some attitude issues that could totally disrail him as well
I wouldn't trade for him, but as a free agent he's worth a shot
He'll likely have his choice between many teams though
Not sure if we'd even be on his radar |

We haven't seen the Traverse City Prospect Tournament eligibility rules in writing. We play a guessing game every year.
Apparently, the Sabres brass were confused in 2013 as they had to pull 19 year old Mikhail Grigorenko off the roster as he played 25 NHL games the year before. Older Pysyk played IIRC, despite playing 19 NHL games the year before. Connor Knapp played, and he was 23 yo.
Bill Hoppe Olean Times Herald BUFFALO – Prospect Mikhail Grigorenko is ineligible for the 2013 NHL Prospect Tournament because he played too many games last season, the Sabres announced this afternoon, a day before they begin play in Traverse City, Mich.
I think there is a rule that teams can have no more than 6 players on the roster with one season of AHL experience.

Reading the above Bill Hoppe quote again.... what kind of behind the scenes crap was going on there? How was it the Sabres didn't announce that Grigorenko was ineligible ONE DAY before they began play? Were they worried about impacting ticket sales? LOL Did Detroit Richard them around? Is there something in the CBA that didn't require Grigorenko to participate because he played NHL games the season before? |
