The era thing to me is a cop out. Not that I'm attacking you or anything. It's like you were able to enjoy games getting out of control in your time but you want to deny your children of experiencing this. - SuperSchennBros
Guys like Schultz, Brashear, Holmgren, were tough as nails fighters, but they weren't one trick ponies. They did other things, including score goals. These goons the Flyers have employed in recent years are useless as tits on a bull. |

I took the warm shower challenge yesterday, it benefited anybody who has to stand within my standard odor radius. |

I hate to take him to task, he's good people, but it's a rant I went on yesterday, and I still think getting upset about the ice bucket challenge is dumb. This isn't some ill conceived "stop Kony 2012 in Darfur by joining a facebook group" slacktivist BS. It turns out you can have a real, effective charity cause that also involves fun. A whole lot of people don't seem to realize this, though. - BulliesPhan87
There are definitely a large group of people who don't donate and dump the water on themselves strictly for attention on Facebook.
The overall effect has been overwhelmingly positive though |

Drove past a Fenwick, Delaware exit yesterday going to Rehoboth for baseball and cried. Actually cried in agony. |

It's nasty. My friend's mom has it, and she doesn't have much left in the tank. I guess I'm a little touchy.
I can certainly speak for the people I know who have done it that I know from high school or college and I'd say about 6 out of 100 donated. It just gets to me.
If most people donate, good for them and good for the cause. But it just enrages me to see people do it and not donate.
Sorry if my earlier comment offended anyone. It was pretty brash. - Giroux_Is_God
Nah, you didn't offend me at all. I know a lot of people who feel like you do about the bucket thing.
I just think it's kinda funny. I know it's repetitive at this point, and even if the people doing it don't know it, they are increasing awareness. I think it's a good thing. |

Just try to ignore those people and focus on the positives like that it's raised millions of dollars for ALS that it otherwise wouldn't have |

I guess I just don't understand the angst over "attention". It just seems like people are trying to have fun, it's not like anybody who buckets and doesn't donate is reducing the donations to ALS.

I think I saw that the ice bucket challenge has raised over $5.5 million towards ALS research, fwiw. |

No Schultz? Every time I see the fight where he pummeled Dale Rolf I enjoy it thoroughly. Rolf ended Barry Ashbee's career. I thought of it as payback. - PLindbergh31
A year or 2 after Schultz was traded, Holmgren beat the poop out of him. It was awesome! |

I think these players are still out there. Lucic and Shawn Thornton are two examples for me. |

I can't get enough of watching people I don't like dousing cold water on themselves... Bettman, MAF, Kunitz, etc. Still waiting on Carlyle and Nonis. |

Schultz wasn't a great fighter, he was just a nasty fighter and didn't take crap from anyone. He was the face of the bullies image, but all in all, he doesn't rank in tip top 3-4. |
