i'm with you on that, brody...but...not too concerned right now...am pretty sure the playbook is very limited at this time of year
come the regular season, though, Hackett, to me, will be more important to the offense than ej alone - Michael Pachla
Yea, this offense should be designed for the playmakers like Spiller, Watkins, Goodwin and Williams. With Jackson and Woods being key 3rd down players.
It just seemed Hackett was clueless on a few occasions last season as well. I guess we will see what happens |

Just stop - Irish 14
Which part is incorrect? His ego is well known, and well documented. Plus the Buffalo News is reporting that he wants a hand in the decision making. That's great when playing on the field. Off the field however, when it comes to decision making, it's a problem. Ego is ultimately what caused Regier to fail, and it's what caused LaFontaine to take his ball and go home after just six months. |

I'm concerned with Hackett also. Looking at Marrone's body language last night, starting to think he feels the same way! EJ has potential still, but the Arena QB's has backups is deplorable!
There is no way this team shouldn't have drafted a QB in this years draft! Would have loved Mettenburger from LSU (some of you know I have been saying this).
I know it's pre season, check out his stats from Friday night! |

Which part is incorrect or classless
Guy has been the heart and soul of Buffalo for 27 years and you want to kick him when he is down fighting cancer!
There might be a time and place for this conversation down the road, but your comments now are very upsetting! |

I agree.
I'm sure their would have been people scolding you if you said something bad when Marv was a GM. They have no need for Jim Kelly |

So the Bills are a charity? They should hand Kelly a position of authority because he has cancer?
Buff19 is right, Kelly has a huge ego. This scenario didn't work out with Lafontaine. Pegula should just have his people run the show.
If it was some other billionaire buying the Bills with no credibility in the area then maybe Kelly could be helpful. But Pegula has no need for that |

You guys are missing the point. Not even going there with you all, don't have the time or the patience.
Pegula is fine without Kelly, I never said that Pegula needed Kelly. Pegula has learned from his mistakes, right now he is keeping his mouth shut and moving in the right direction. He doesn't need any partners.
Pegula can use Kelly like he does with Perrault! |

Sounds to me like Kelly wants a piece of the Bills more than the other way around. He's kicked the tires with Golisano, Gundlach, and now Jon Bon Jovi, if the reports are correct.
And his cancer has nothing to do with whether or not he would be a good fit in the Bills' front office. And if you really do subscribe to the ridiculous notion that his cancer somehow makes him exempt from scrutiny as to whether or not he is capable of running an NFL franchise, then he also has no business pursuing ownership while he is sick. You can't have it both ways. |

What does Perrault do? I am not saying anything bad about Kelly. I just don't get it.
Let him stand on the sidelines like he's done for years. |

I agree Kelly overvalues himself in what he is demanding . What I think Irish is getting at is that he could be a goodwill ambassador to represent the Franchise . That is what I envisioned . By no means do I think he is qualified to be involved in decisions steering the franchise .
I can't believe I have found common ground with Irish !

He is an ambassador now. The best thing the new owner (most likely Pegula) can do is change nothing with Kelly currently.
Kelly wants a piece of the team, which I don't blame him for. If I was in his position, and the new owner let me in, I'd take it too. However, his desires, and the best interests of the team, aren't necessarily one in the same. |

You give him a title and make official . No if a new regime comes in , he may not be an ambassador . If Mr Kelly has the ego some of you seems to think . An olive branch my need to be extended . Again , I am going to ask all the negative folks . What is it going to hurt ? I am not campaigning for him to be in a decision making role with the franchise.
I don't understand why this such a big deal to people. I was never a huge Kelly fan , but this community has an emotional link with him it seems.

He is not tied to any of the parties bidding on the team at this time. That is how this discussion started . So he he is no longer an ambassador. I do not believe he deserves a part of the team just to placate his ego . If he wants a piece . Let him open his checkbook like anyone else. But if Pegula can in some way extend an olive branch to Mr Kelly than it makes the process even smoother. |

It's simple, it's just not necessary. Pegula is the one with the $$$ and that's all that matters. He needs to go it alone on his own terms. If he chooses to give him a position later on, so be it. Right now it's not necessary for him to join forces with anyone. |

So just hand him some meaningless job? Sure
Make him someone with the authority to make any decisions, absolutely not. |

That is all I have been saying all along.. I have no idea if he could be involved in the actual running of the team . Has he ever done anything in any capacity off the field ?
