Oi! The best bet is using the chat feature. Otherwise you are on the phone for an hour. Sadly we are compartmentalized. I couldn't even find out who has the job, unless you are down the shore - Jsaquella
Nope. Way farther away than that.
I just would like to reach through the interweb and female dog slap someone |

I'm with you. I have to call them 4-5 times a day.
My guess is the job went to an outside contractor. They miss far more appointments than in house guys. I wish I could do something to help, outside of telling you to call in and yell at the poor lady on the phone in Calcutta |

yeah, that is the problem.
I hate yellig at them, so I try not to.
the guy I am chatting with now doesn't understand that my appointment was for today between 2:30 and 4:30 and it is now 6:45. He can't figure out the date and time on the east coast of the US.
the last time I did this, I was taking screen shots and pasting them into the chat.
EDIT: Now I am told I have to call |

Might be Leighton, Laught or otherwise, but Flyers have reportedly invited Louick Marcotte to camp. Coming off 100 point season as an overager for Val d'Or |

Ugh. They should be able to track your tech. I have to submit an ETA for every job & get a call if I miss it |

My first thought was this is a shape up or ship out experiment regarding Rinaldo.
If he gets an expanded roll which doesn't pin him as an "energy guy" and doesn't feel forced to play with reckless abandon, then maybe he'll cut down on the penalties. If he can perform in this role- a grinding 3rd liner with a physical edge (as opposed to a "4th line energy guy"), he'll stick around.
If not, and he doesn't show signs of pulling out of his regression he hit last season....
Well...*fart noise and thumbs down gesture* |

If it is a contractor, he might show up at 830. Those dudes mostly get paid by the job, so they do as many a day as they can |

Nope. I believe he's AHL eligible, so a good showing might get hi a contract |

I just don't think he has the skill to be more than a 4th line agitator. Even if he cuts down PIM, he's not good defensively. He's not a guy that can be trusted in a shutdown role for on a regular basis. He's never scored much, at any level. |

Believe me, I'm not disagreeing, but hey ya never know...different role, different mindset, different player?? It was just my first thought.
And about that kid being AHL eligible... I like it. Like you said...a strong showing could score him a contract, and maybe he turns into a bit of a late bloomer.
No risk, all reward. |

Berube says he wants to slide Rinaldo up, maybe he can play on the PP.
Love it when a guy says his team needs better discipline, fewer penalties and to stress puck possession and then says he wants an undisciplined, unskilled penalty machine to take on a bigger role. - Jsaquella
This will give everyone an ulcer this season |

Sutter will sometimes drop bits of genius.
I can't knock Berube's overall results, in terms of wins and losses, but I'm not overly hopeful he'll be the guy who puts it all together.
If Berube hadn't actively tried to slide Rinaldo up last season, I wouldn't worry about the interview at all. It's like Zac's his pet project. - Jsaquella
Yeah, Sutter is definitely as close to an idiot savant as you can get in hockey. We'll see if Berube follows along that vein, or is just minus the savant part.
Seems like they're trying so hard to shape Zac into a Cal Clutterbuck, but of course the key difference is that Clutterbuck actually has talent (he didn't slow Tavares down in junior, for example). |

100 points?
So top 6 at the NHL level or bust? Was passed over in three drafts though. I'm guessing the odds of success are slim? Aube-Kuebel linemate? |

The worst thing that happens is he gets a two-way contract. |

Who's a dopier interview... Darryl Sutter or Craig Berube? - Tomahawk
Chief's deadpan delivery and his accent don't help him, but on the other hand, he's not really auditioning to be someone who does marketing presentations and he doesn't strike as someone who gives a blue (frank) what fans think.
As long as the players respect him, that's really all the matters. I call that the Charlie Manuel Rule. |

This has got to be a carrot Berube is putting out there in the hopes that Rinaldo can use his powers for good.
It's worth a shot, I guess, but I don't see this working out well. And given the number of tweeners (between the AHL and NHL) that the Flyers have on hand nowadays, if Rinaldo doesn't pan out, I guess he'll be super easy to replace. |

the more of these bargain bin, low-risk, high reward guys they can scrape up the better. it will push everyone in camp, and who knows maybe 1 will stick with the flyers, and they might find 2 or 3 to sign for the phantoms and/or royals. get them in the system. |

it amazes me that guys like rinaldo find nhl jobs even if for only a few years, and that some other more responsible, 2-way players, who can skate, hit a bit, even with stone hands can't crack a lineup. |

It all comes down to the coach and what type of game they want to play. Lavi for instance draws up a much more chaotic gameplan than Berube does.
Actually, if the Flyers did look to move Rinaldo I'm sure Lavi would be looking to scoop him right up. |

Agreed. The Phantoms really need some forwards with offensive upside. So if this kid sticks with the Phantoms it will be another nice little add by Hexy. |
