After moving on from Hartnell and with Bobby Ryan's name in mind, I will again say I want this playlong term the same way Hartnell was signed here many moons ago. I hate Umberger's deal as much, if not more then Lecavalier's, so of the youth movement is now, I look forward to moving o. From both those contracts. Two other names to watch closely is our own Michael Del Zotto and Luke Schenn. If Del Zotto can pick up his game I'd very much like him to replace Streit much sooner then later. I believe Streit has value and isn't able to belp us wi a Cup, let's get him to a contender for a modest return of picks and prospects. Luke Schenn is also as young as any of our core group of Giroux, Simmonds and Voracek. He's had one solid season and one average to under average season. You still want an experienced guy on the backend when Morin, Gostisbehere and Sanheim are ready. I think the team would be lucky to have Schenn develop into another remotely looking like Grossmann but better with the puck. |

I'd wait until he's an UFA - Streit2ThePoint
If he really has interest in the Flyers, the Flyers can afford to wait. |

Should the Flyers choose to buyout one of or both of Lecavalier and/ Umberger, what kind of impact will this have on the Flyers cap? I think the Flyers should go after Bobby Ryan. If he really wants to be here and he can keep up the play he has most of his career, yeah I want him. Obviously there are better players out there but they're not available and most aren't targeting Philly like he might be. - SuperSchennBros
Ryan is slow, lax on fitness, streaky, and an iffy system player. Sounds a bit like the guy we just dumped for RJ Umberger, no? |

- Sign Bobby Ryan
- Hopefully MDZ replaces Streit
- Trade Streit, as he's not part of the future
- Have L. Schenn be our veteran blueline leader |

Strange thing is, he doesn't necessarily score that many of them relative to the accompanying level of hype.
Not saying he's a bad player, but I'm not dedicating a significant chunk of cap-space to him via UFA either. |

That's how I feel. He's had some decent seasons but nothing spectacular and as you said he seems streaky. |

He's a fairly-young 30-goal scorer. He'll want $5M, maybe up to $6.5M. |

He's making $5.1mm this year. If he scores 30 this season, he'll be demanding the second number.

I wouldn't be surprised to see his free agent value rise even higher then that. |
