Higgie doesn't 'need' to go anywhere. the guy is a solid utility player and a good regular 3rd liner in this league.

Burrows is all heart and its guys like these who elevate their games in the playoffs who help win championships. Not too many guys are able to ramp it up a notch, but he's one of them.

Higgins is a third liner . He is taking some young players spot . If he is a solid 3 rd liner he would be bringing back a solid return in a trade and not debating if he could be traded for a fourth rounder .

Another over value of a home team player.

Higgins is a great depth player and would fit on any team in the league. His value is stable right now but many are overvaluing him. I personally like Higgins but he is taking a spot from a younger player. People here need to stop living in the past and move forward. Our time as elite has past. We need to move players not just for our team to move forward but for players to move forward in their career.

I am sure in SJ they asked Marleau and Jumbo Joento waive NTC . They probably said no so they stripped them instead.

if Burrows has only one or two goals after 15 games ,I. Can see them asking him to waive NTC again ,and if he refuses putting him on waivers.

That would set a wonderful organizational example/standard for our youth and future UFAs.

Play with absolute and utter heart shift in shift out, get injured, get placed on waivers.

He is a decent player for a team not trying to inject youth. We need the spot to get younger.

It was a bad contract made by a GM that is no longer here. He was asked to be traded but refused and handcuffed new Management.

Burrows will be fine. I am not worried at all. Torts was a destroyer of players. Having every single player on your team with career lows speaks for itself but hey we blocked a ton of shots.

Perhaps he's overpaid, but numerous teams have third liners making 4 plus mill a season. We arguably have the most depth this team has seen since 2011.

What do we need them cap space for anyways?

We don't need cap space this year. If Burrows scores 25 goals this year, no one will complain . If he scores 15 fans will be grumbling.

People will only grumble if he scores 15 playing on the 1st line. If he scores 15 on the 3rd and has success in a different role. I don't think they will.

I think he will play second line and 15 is getting into bare minimum. Like I said if he scores 20 to 25 no one complains

Agreed, 15+ goals while playing a shutdown/PK role will do just fine

So. Out of the 3 Burrows gets my vote. Money well spent.

If he gets 20 on the 2nd line thats good. I think he will get 20+ goals. No reason he shouldn't.

Don't mean to interrupt, but I've just posted a new blog:

FWIW, I have lots of question marks in my head about this upcoming season, but I'm pretty sure that Burrows will be just fine.
