These are their new home and aways. I think they really compete for best jersey set (home, away, 3rd) in the league. - JAKEw1234
Yeah, I posted earlier how much I liked the return to the 1980's they give...I also wished the Flyers would return to the 1980's style jerseys & coloring. |

It's simple, distinctive and has a nice nod to the city, outside of a couple of the outdoor game jerseys, I think it's the best third jersey in the league - Jsaquella
right, the jersey is fine. the logo would have been fine if they left the arch out of it. |

I'd still like to see the lines shuffled a bit. I think that they can have a better overall top 9 by splitting the pairs up. I'd also like to see Couturier be utilized in more of a two way role.
I realize he's still going to get a big load on the defensive side of things, but he should get more OZ starts and more PP time. He managed two fewer points than Schenn in a much more difficult role and averaging a minute less per game on the PP. - Jsaquella
I liked our team last year. I don't like the Umberger deal. However by moving on from Hartnell I've made my peace with moving on from Lecavalier. Many might disagree but moving on from Lecavalier to me goes hand in hand from moving on from Umberger too. |

Injuries were a factor, but even this year they were not a regular season juggernaut. Good team, still struggled at times to score. Then they get down 3-0 to the Sharks, flip the switch and steam roll the damned league - Jsaquella
The magic of the trade deadline in my opinion.
Looking at Carter and Ryan's numbers, they're pretty comparable as far as offensive numbers. |

I still see the Umberger for Hartnell deal as a lateral move, when all factors come into play. I don't like Umberger's contract, but the two fewer years make it easier to buy out or even possibly trade in a couple years. At the very least, unlike Hartnell, Umberger can slide down and play a third line or defensive role effectively.
As for Vinny, like Hartnell, I doubt he can be effective in a defensive role. They tried to move him and failed, now the coach has to make the best decision on where to fit him. Even after next season, the cap penalties to buy out Lecavalier are more harsh than to buy out Umberger.
I don't see moving one going hand in hand with the other, necessarily, although they may end up moving both out at the same time. |

They are, but the Flyers still lack the Doughty and Voynov factor. I'd wait until UFA, if at all |

months ago, I posted a link to icethtics. They were doing NFL style hockey jerseys. The Detroit Lions were great and I hate to say it, the Cowboys were awsome too |

I think there is a reason why teams like Ryan so much. He's easily the shot we're missing.
You of course have the right to your opinion but Bobby Ryan is easily a bigger name then Jake Voracek. Let's put abilities aside between the two players and focus strictly on names. Ryan might not be a Super Star but he's absolutely a star, probably on the same level as Jeff Carter. Four 30 goal seasons within his first four seasons in the NHL. That's not at least being a star? Ryan would have easily hit 30 again his season within his own abilities if not for his season ending injury. I could only imagine what he could do playing with Claude Giroux. I love Jake Voracek. He reminds me of a young Marian Hossa, but what good is his speed, size and skill if he's not shooting the puck more along side Giroux? - SuperSchennBros
Honestly, who cares about the hype of a name? And I think we see an example here of a player whose name in lights seems to be bigger then the actual player is as a player. I think Ryan is a good player. But there are limits to what I would spend for that player.

Right now, Ryan is a better goal scorer than Simmonds. Two years from now? I wouldn't give him much more than the $5.1mm he's getting now. if that means he goes elsewhere, oh well. - Jsaquella
Salaries will escalate. Two years from now, 5M will be close to a mid range salary.

In the right deal I'd move anyone. If somebody is offering me a legitimate number one defenseman for some of the guys on that list, and he's not too old, I'd have a hard time saying no.
I have 3 guys I'd really need to be blown away to trade and they are Giroux, Voracek & Couturier. - Jsaquella

Oh sure, I was just talking NHLers...Laughton, Morin, Sanheim, Gostisbehere would top my list of kids in terms of guys it'd take an arm & leg to get me to trade them |
