Who knows. Its a hell of a lot more good looking than the trash in recent years and next year. I'm being optimistic

Seabrook is a guy I'd open up the bank for, depending on cost.

That is the kind of "right" player in my eyes.

I have interest at the right cost, if they can fit him in while not limiting them in making more important moves.

With making 5.1 now, and I think he is 27 no?

Vibe seems set on that mega life-time deal. What would be the max you give?

Haha I finished the nurse school, got full time in medicine ward, all good with the lady friend and into my first apartment. Just don't get used to it

Would be willing to do it for Yandle but not via trade where I think the cost will be too high. FA only. Giordano being another.

I do think you see him have a very good year, he knows the chance to get paid is coming.

Playing in Ottawa with no expectations with everyone kissing your ass hoping you re-sign and then going to a pressure cooker environment the next year...

I hope they stay away from Ryan.

- flyer_nutter

Unless he takes a discount to the tune of 5 years, 30 million, which he won't, because money talks, I'm staying away

Seabrooke, Gio, Yandle...

Can't see them making it to UFA.

Bieksa might, but he will have lot of milage already and will still command top $

the top D guys will likely get re signed, I guess we will see

6 million would be alright with me but I'd have no tears walking away. The years would be what worries me.

Couturier, bSchenn, Voracek and Coburn need new contracts the following summer.

You'd hope you can move some but as of now MacDonald, Streit, LeCavalier and Umberger are still under contract that year. The cap flexibility may be worth more to me than Boooby Ryan.

I'd actually hope for Hamhuis more than Bieksa myself. Kind of see a similar situation happening with Seabrook as what happened with Suter. Wouldn't be surprised to see him go for the pay-day, but can he stand alone and excel without Keith like Suter did without Weber?

Would have been great if they got Hamhuis the first time around.
Oh well.

I think the Canucks will re sign Ham, and maybe try to trade Bieksa or let him go to UFA.

I like Bieksa, but the dude has played the game hard. In a couple years he might be closer to a foley than playing 60 games.

Nutter, if the rags don't re sign Marc Staal this year, would you go for him, assuming he will get a huge UFA deal too?

No. He will have so many teams after him that I think the price would be far too high.

I'm not super huge on Marc Staal. 27, and never a big point producer. For a pretty one dimensional guy in my eyes, no mega contract.

he is pretty darn good shut down guy, and sometimes they don't get the huge money that offensive D types get, but he will still get a lot I'd guess.

I'd take him if under 6M per, I think he is really good when healthy.

I'm being hopeful they have that shutdown guy in Morin. Again I'd be game to a point but with the other members on the defense signed long term, and making a pretty high salary... I cringe. Depends on cost I guess for sure.

See Carolina pushing hard for him.

I do like the grinder shut down guys. Just not when they get paid above what they provide. He is making around 3 million per year now I believe. I don't have much issue keeping him long term but if we have kind of seen the limits of Luke I don't like giving him more money.

He has flashes of really good play. He has some time now before his next contract to show what he is made of. If he wont excel at the transition game, or carrying the puck up, he needs to be a physical rock in his own end. We will see. He is durable so I'd like him to solidify himself.
