When? At the time the cap was first implemented? I remember Lindros getting paid 9 mill in the late 90's - GOA88

I see on twitter the Pens signed Carbomb to a tryout contract.
Do we have any other garbage lying around the Pens can have? |

0 goals, 4 assists, -3 in two rounds in the POs this year (yes he has been a beast in the past). If G gave us that we would be screwed. Go take a cold shower and cool off the hot feelings for the Boston boy. Bergeron makes almost 2M less then him per. It's not a terrible deal but not amazing. Also less the Gs, wonder why? - coffee junkie
Obviously missed the point.

Or maybe the fact that Simon Gagne returned from injury and Leighton came in for Boucher?? - GOA88
Boucher was playing well. He'd had a good series against the Devils and wasn't the reason the Flyers were trailing in the series at the time he suffered the injury that brought Leighton (himself returning from injury) back into the lineup.

Personally, If I'm paying Voracek 7+ mill a season he better be an elite RW. Maybe 7 mill isnt bad with the cap going up but Im thinking in the present. - GOA88
He's already close to being elite. Really the only thing holding him back is a lack of shooting accuracy compared to snipers like Kessel.

No, we already lost (if that's the right way to put it) Nodl to Carolina. Maybe Danny Syvret. |

Just curious: Is this a conscious effort on the part of the Flyers to bring in teammates of guys they've drafted in order to get a closer look at a specific player or to maybe find a new way to evaluate players they've already drafted? - johndewar
I think it's just scouts/coaches going to watch a specific player, then taking a shine to some other guy on the team due to repeated viewings.
Alderson and Cousins, Hatch and Ghost, Leier and Noebels, Lamarche and Straka, serially collecting kids out of Team Canada U20, etc. |

Who's Hatch that played with Ghost? I don't know anything about him. |

Thanks. Do you see him topping out as a 4th line-type forward? Doesn't seem to have much scoring pop to fit into a top-9 role, despite the Flyers' lack of depth at LW. |
