You didn't really have that many points, its just a bunch of assumptions being made. Sure hes from souther ontario, but his yoga instructor girlfriend is from Colorado, one of his best friends Joey Hishon is on the Avs as well. His brother Cal is with the Canucks now.

Its not like he has to go to Toronto to have his family and friends see him.

As for Babcock it makes sense to at least speculate that it might happen. Shanny and him have a great relationship, There have been rumors that he wants a new challenge and the Leafs have all the money in the world and could easily out pay anyone.

As for Orielly again, It makes some sense to me at least. He has had some bad contract negations, He is stuck on a team with two future elite centers, he just signed a 2 year contract that brings him to a UFA, and he fits extremely well between two elite offensive players.(JVR, Kessel) A two way center like him would be perfect. And lastly he is from Ontario, his favorite team growing up was the Leafs and his family and friends all live 20 mins from T.O. So I am sorry but it makes sense and should at least make some sense to you.

I feel like there's a lot of salt between Leafs fans and the Avs base from HF boards. There have been a bunch of proposals from Leaf fans offering scraps for O'reilly, we say we rather keep him then they scoff and say, "Well gosh, I guess you think he's a god if you won't take this pile of scraps for him!" They go on to post in droves that O'reilly is overrated in threads, and take shots at the Avs any opportunity they can. Now it's bled over here. Though to be fair, it was only one fan here who was being an ass.
