Here is the entire 13 minute interview with Tampa media guys. 5min 20sec mark on the twitter stuff. I don't care about him talking about the tweet, what I liked was him talking about Tampa having a core group of guys now from which to build upon each off season and the pipeline that will continue feeding the team. He seems to really like Yzerman and Vinik are building.

Haha i honestly don't know about that quieting the conversation, it sounded like textbook sarcasm , really a "pocket favourite". Anyway he still just said Tampa is an unbelieveable place to play, and that he wants to win here. Nothing more or less than what he has already said....still up in the air, but he did the politically correct thing. He never once said I'll never leave, or never be a leaf, so still up in the air.

As a Leaf fan, I'd love to see Stamkos on our roster. I used to catch him a lot when he played for the sting, and the guy is electric.

But, I also don't but this quote as something as a relief.

Chances are, he loves this, as it will only raise his value to the Lightning when it comes to resigning.

But I don't believe for a second he did this by accident as he would have squashed it as soon as all the hoopla began. He could have simply pocket undialed it as well. I won't hold my breath to line up and buy my stammer jersey with a leaf logo on it, but I am also not buying what hes trying to sell at this point.

He likely, regardless of his feelings on where he wants to go, wants this to stop being an issue until his contract ends.

I find it funny Leafs fans gthink he'll leave Tampa to play for a strugling franchise + too much pressure in Toronto.
