Blues sign former Flyer pick(and ex-King) Colin Fraser. If he can stay healthy he's a damned solid 4th line center. |

Either make Pronger a 90 or get him out of the game completely. - SuperSchennBros

Use him in a 2nd line role and use perhaps Laughton in a shutdown spot - ob18
I think nearly everyone on the board is in unison in that we want Couturier to be given more offensive zone starts and scoring responsibility. It starts with Simmonds flanking his other wing. Not Rinaldo |

Would be nice to see him in action in Philly. Man was that first LA Cup a nightmare!
The Los Angeles Kings filled with former Flyers talent, up against one of the Flyers most hated rivals. I remember having a conversation with Crims over XBOX like yesterday and he narrowed it down to one sentence. "It's just too soon". |

The problem for me is we already know Couturier's bread and butter. I understand wanting to get Couturier away from this to open up his offense but if it ain't broke, why fix it? Can Laughton do the same job? Who knows but what we do know is Couturier is a natural and I think many were worriedwhen he first was assigned to this role. In fact the only hole the Flyers had heading into the 2011-12 season was not having a big checking center. |

He has the tools to make the contributions on offense & should be given the chance, you have the defensive replacement in Laughton who has said he's most comfortable playing that type of roll & chipping in offensively when it's possible.

Sure but wanting to and actually doing it are two different things. The ohl is a different league. |

So was the Q but they trusted Coots to do it right away when he was 18, I see no reason why Laughton can't do it right now at 21 |

and isn't the OHL more defensively sound than let's say the Q? |

I'd say it is but all 3 leagues are similar to an extent.
But I am also biased with Laughton, I've watched close to if not 100 games of his junior career. |

I agree that Laughton could likely step in now and play the role Couturier played for most of his rookie year. |

We will see how they approach it in camp and in any preseason games. |

I really think he's got a good shot. With White out, there's likely a spot open. I do think White was going to make the team, probably replacing Hall, unless Laughton had a camp that forced the Flyers to keep him. |

If Laughton can step in and shutdown Malkin in a playoff like setting, we'll all be impressed. |

I'm not saying he can do that...he can probably be a solid defensive player, handle 8-10 minutes a night and slide up the line up if needed. |
