i had the 15 last christmas time. but even the 12 i think is considered a pretty good scotch.

they are all starting to taste weird to me now in the face of my whiskey fascination. but i always considered the glenlivet to be a really good one. (frank) all those expensive islay smokey nasty scotches. a good sweet speyside or highland like glenlivet is where it's at.

buddy of mine inherited an expensive old bottle of bowmore once and i though it was disgusting. hated it.

i'll probably try the glenfiddich (i know i've had it but it was before i really knew what i was tasting) and a few of the japanese scotches and then go exclusively to bourbon and other american whiskeys. oh and irish. i like some of their whiskeys too.

i'll have scotch around the holidays with my family or if i happen to find myself around a bottle.

it's my favorite accessible scotch. light and sweet. easy to sip.

and a single malt that's under $30. that part alone is unheard of.

there's also a crown royal hidden in there. maybe too sweet. i think my favorite canadian so far is probably the bushmills.

the bourbon is priced pretty okay around here. i mean there's still some obnoxiously priced ones but for the most part it's okay. you can always find something interesting to try for 25-35 bucks.

35-50 can get you all these fancy ones i never heard of.

for instance buffalo trace is only $32 here and that jack daniel's green label whisky i like is only $25. stuff like that's priced pretty reasonably.

i've just never been into corn whisky, too sweet. bourbon isn't my thing.
