Coots has to play 2nd line if they expect more offense from him. Plain and simple |

I think they're content with G and Jake as a pair. If any changes are made to the first line I think it's at LW.
Schenn G Jake
Read Coots Simmonds
Umberger Vinny Akeson
Raffl Laughton Rinaldo/Bellmere
Swap Vinny and Laughton depending on matchups. Give the 4th line more even strength minutes regardless to lessen the burden on our PKers. |

I doubt that happens. For all the right things Simmonds does his hands and passing don't really cut it for first line play in my eyes. Maybe if they had a bigger playmaker to put at LW but I don't think Schenn is that guy. |

I am okay with these line ups as the problem I had is having VLC on the 4th line. Those lines u have there may work but in all reality couts and read are the 3rd line by description of being a shut down line. - AGL_91
True, but I want to see Couturier get more offensive time & see if a decent line with Laughton can take some of the defensive responsibility |

That'd be my first choice, but Berube seems dead set against it, so I suggested the ones I did.
I'd like Read and Simmonds with G, and Voracek with Schenn and Raffl, myself |

I think the chemistry is there with G and Jake, Obviously their D zone play needs to improve but I think they'll tinker with the LW, perhaps even by trade, before breaking the two up. To date we still haven't seen Read have much success with G... And I honestly see Jake struggling with our other centers.
Re:Vinny on the 4th line. I see no issue with this. As we saw last year if you stick him with one decent winger on the 4th line he will find and exploit defensive holes in opposing 4th lines and 3rd D pairings.
Give him some 3rd line starts and stick him on the 2nd PP and he'll still wind up with decent minutes. |

I think sometimes people get hung up on 4th line and look at it like it has to be a defense first line.
If I had the lines I posted initially, with 28 & 93 together, with a slight change having Raffl & Umberger as Laughton's wingers, I could see them playing more minutes than Bellemare-Vinny-Akeson line, which technically is 4th line for Vinny.
In reality, last year, the Lecavalier-Schenn-Simmonds line was the 3rd line, because the Read-Couturier line did so much heavy lifting. |

I agree with all of this. If they bring in Laughton to center the 3rd line with, lets say Umberger and Rinaldo you can run that as an old school (hard)checking 3rd line really throw some teams off by dedicating more minutes to that type of play. The 4th line then becomes your 3rd scoring line and Vinny can still play his style and do it with some wingers with some offensive touch. |

(frank) him, he can't even score in every game...trade him now before they realize he sucks.
Actually, I'm more excited about him than anyone not named Sanheim |

Yep, the best thing about this roster is, you've got a load of flexibility.
There's so many different things they can try, hell, even say Vinny as RW with Giroux and mybe Raffl. There's a ton of options available. |

You got me all fired up on Sanheim before the draft, and Aube Kubel was one of the ones I read up on quite a bit beforehand on my own. I really love their draft this year. |

Even over Morin?
Honestly, looking at Morin, Sanheim, Ghost, NicNAK...I've got a really solid feeling about this prospect pool, for (quite litrilly) the first time in my? |
