Even over Morin?
Honestly, looking at Morin, Sanheim, Ghost, NicNAK...I've got a really solid feeling about this prospect pool, for (quite litrilly) the first time in my? - Giroux_Is_God
Yeah, Morin is a close third, Hagg and Ghost are right there as well.
I think Aube Kubel could be similar to Gagne, and I think Sanheim could be, in time, a Bouwmeester type defenseman. He's so fluid and mobile, decent size. |

Nope, saw it on twitter. I'm watching the Phils, because I am a masochist.
Actually, I'm lying. I have the Phils on TV, but I'm watching The League. I decided to binge watch that this week, and I'm up to season 4. |

love how the sixers are taking the exact approach that you constantly beg the flyers to take yet still you rip them |

They've been bad for a while, what other choice did they have?
They couldn't get any worse. |

I've been a accused of a number of things.
I've been accused of being a fan of the Meatheads. The old Broad Street Bullies types, which is partly true. I like tough guys but I really like character guys like Jeremy Roenick, Chris Pronger and I felt Scott Hartnell brought a bit of personality himself. I've been accused of loving it when the Flyers bring back familiar faces, even though the team should move on, which is true. I've been accused of expecting too much of former superstars such as Lecavalier, which is only partly true.
I just saw RJ Umberger speak about his return to the Flyers and I really liked what he had to say. He wants to get back into the playoffs and win something. I'm sold with that kind of talk. He's a former Flyer talent, I wouldn't exactly call him Mr. Personality and if he ever was a star, his best days are probably behind him. While what he had to say softens the blow of losing a top line player, I really wish I could shake how I feel about how we brought him in. This is a new feeling for me because I was crazy happy to see Gagne, Knuble, Downie, Emery, Boucher, Prospal and Vandermeer return. Fedotenko and Umberger are probably the only two players I feel the time for their return is probably bad timing.
For Umberger, to me it won't be a lack of effort on his part but possibly a lack of talent. I don't believe he'll see much time on the top line if any. I just don't feel the money is right for him right now, regardless of when his contract runs out, which is one year shorter then Lecavalier, a little bit of a bigger cap hit, a long with a No-trade. I still wish the Flyers just allowed things to play out between Umberger and Columbus.
It's just a strange feeling I can't seem to shake. This isn't to say he isn't a talented more balanced player then Hartnell or can't help this team. I think Giroux's lack of Superstar like partner will always be a knock on Giroux. |

I think sometimes people get hung up on 4th line and look at it like it has to be a defense first line.
If I had the lines I posted initially, with 28 & 93 together, with a slight change having Raffl & Umberger as Laughton's wingers, I could see them playing more minutes than Bellemare-Vinny-Akeson line, which technically is 4th line for Vinny.
In reality, last year, the Lecavalier-Schenn-Simmonds line was the 3rd line, because the Read-Couturier line did so much heavy lifting. - Jsaquella
It's not just about minutes, it's about what kind of minutes. How many offensive zone starts, and starts in prime offensive situations do you think a 4th line is going to get? Have to think about how a 4th line is going to be deployed and used. In my view, yea, a 4th line has to pretty much be a defense first line.

I do. He brings actual value and perspective to a conversation. You on the other hand hold a grudge against someone you've never met over the internet. Weird. |
