Buffalo has bottomed out and is on its way back up... detriot i dont think has hit that bottom yet.. unless filing for bankruptcy is bottom? - IndianaSabresFan
Detroit still has a bigger population, a bigger corporate presence (sponsorship and endorsement opportunities), and an airport where you can fly non-stop to and from just about anywhere in North America. Plus, if I'm not mistaken, many players do the same thing in Detroit that they do here in Buffalo, move to the suburbs, which are still pretty nice. At least the ones with families do.
Buffalo is on its way up but it still has a ways to go before it's in a better situation than Detroit. Now, winning could be a different story sooner rather than later.
The Illitch's aren't stupid though. They know they will need to improve things to make the Red Wings a destination again, and they will. |

Diaz declines offer to join Red Wings in camp but goes to the Flames instead, seems folks don't want to play in Detroit anymore. - SABRES 89
Detroit, for all of its rich history and championship, is a dump arena to play in. |

Flutie made exciting plays. He made the game fun.
If EJ makes plays like he did yesterday, the hate will subside. How many times have we, as Bills fans, Just wanted the QB to make good decisions and be a playmaker. EJ did that yesterday, even if it was on the conservative side. Lots of good plays yesterday on Defense and Offense. Something Buffalo isn't used to. - RynoBull
And special teams. Dan Carpenter with 2 50 yarders and the game winner. Punter with 2(or 3?) inside the 20. I said at the start of the game, Robert Woods is our most talented receiver. |

Right now, Woods is the better receiver. I think when all is said and done, Watkins will end up having the better career, but for this year, Woods is "the guy". |

Yes, but don't forget, Woods is still very young. + Any team that ever did anything worthwhile has several playmakers. |

EASHL - Herzeleid
Post launch patch will have EASHL,playoff mode, improve be a pro and adding an interactive draft (you can now make trades anytime during the draft instead of post round).
Complain enough and you'll get something from them |

edit: Here it is. Still very very disappointing and likely to be loaded with bugs and issues.

Buffalo has a long long way to go, i will agree. and yes detroit has the corporate sponsorship and probably 5 times the population (in the metro region).. If GM wasn't in Detroit i think it would be worse off than buffalo right now though.. |

Oh, I agree. I just think that the type of team you're talking about ends up being better with Woods as a #2. |

They got plays out of a lot of different key people at key moments which is why they won the game. Don't forget, Williams had a catch that was very similar to the one Woods made. Add in the turnovers forced by the D at key times, the good special teams play, and Freddie busting that run in OT and we got a W. It's a great Monday here in Buffalo. |

Absolutely. Fact is, though, GM is there, and it's a company that (not to get too political), we've seen that it will take something absolutely monumental before they really go under. The government will step in as often and as much as it has to, for better or for worse.
That's the drum I keep beating, though, before a select few keep dropping the tired old "negative" argument. These smaller endeavors like Canalside, HarborCenter, the Riverbend project are nice. I know it's tough to look at the multi-million dollar pricetags and call them small, but in the grand scheme of things, that's what they are. Buffalo needs to figure out a way to get a so-called "corporate giant" in here, a company that does enough business and hires enough people to get the population increasing for the first time in 20 years, and another slew of people to frequent here for commerce. It needs to become a place where people fly here to get work done, not fly somewhere else. |

Agreed.
Bottom line is that they beat a team on the road that was better than them last year. |

however, in order to attract those giants you have to have somethign that brings them in.. They aren't going to come to buffalo because the taxes are low or because the climate is great.. these little things bringing more and more events and capability for events could be the catalyst to bring more corporations.. You have to have a family environment for people to and this stuff all helps. |

Lake Erie/Niagara River = cheap energy. I think ultimately that will be the catalyst. These businesses are looking for an environment conducive to making money more than anything else. Everything else is gravy. |
