Also, on the officiating: am I the only one who's never seen a flag for offensive holding on a lineman picked up until today?

That was to be expected. When they signed Brandon Spikes, just about every scouting report basically said: "the guy dominates against the run, but make no mistake, he sucks against the pass". That seems like something they were simply willing to live with in order to get better against the run.

That's where losing Alonso was huge, but Bradham is a better option than Preston Brown right now so that should improve next week.

I also though one of Lawson's attributes was coverage, yet hes playing strictly end now I guess

Only fan base in the NFL that can whine about winning a road game . They were supposed to lose.

Really? I thought coming into this game it was anybodys game. I mean based of my little knowledge and viewing i didn't think Chicago was all that great and from what I saw today they weren't (not saying they were bad but nothing to suggest that the game was over before it began).

Between the analysts at ESPN and NFL network, not one picked the Bills to win

They were a 7 point underdog...which is a lot.

Is the division up for grabs if we take Miami at the home opener? NE is at Minnesota who faced a good defense and did some damage. Not as easy as a win as it looked last week

I want to say yes, but 2011 makes me not want to think that far ahead.

Guess you don't get any pre game shows or expert picks across the pond . They were a decided underdog . They had never won a game in Chicago before either ,that is in the history of the team.

Wow, really underestimating chicago then but I always figured the Bills D to make this game interesting.

Its really been a while since i've been into the sport, I know who the superbowl contenders but if i was betting the rest of these games i'd be flipping a coin to decide a winner

"Tune in on oct. 26th when the NFL returns to London for a second time when the Detroit Lions take on the Atlanta BRAVES (it was written on screen as well) "

Based on that, not sure pre game show would have helped.

No, 2011 was when we started 3-0 and collapsed.

This team is 5x as talented as the 2011 one though

We started 4-0 I think in 07. Edwards was excellent until a concussion

2008. And yes, Edwards was concussed in Arizona by Adrian Wilson.

Would they have had a realistic shot at making it had he stayed healthy or were they 4 easy games?

Who knows? Edwards melted after that concussion, but the coaching ended up being horrendous. 3 of those 4 wins were at home as well, with one being a real quality opponent (San Diego) and the 4th was a terrible St. Louis team.

I'm so sick of the "Redskins" controversy. I don't believe that it's as offensive as the proponents seem to think it is. However, I don't believe that it's "no big deal" or a "name of pride" like the naysayers contend. I couldn't care less if they change the name or not, but it seems that every article I read on the issue, the consensus among Native Americans is "who cares? We've got bigger problems to worry about."

Usually the two key ingredients for a miserable collapse in any sport really.

On a side note, I think it's funny that my time spent as a sabres fan has made me mildly interested in the bills. Friend of mine had a similar deal with Minnesota and it's sports teams.

It makes me wonder when you adopt one sports team do you adopt all that cities teams.
