Oh, once I figured out the PS4 version wasn't going to have drafts in GM mode or EASHL, I decided not to buy it this year. |

No drafts in GM mode? Then what the hell happens when players start to retire? You'll have 2-on-2 hockey in 12 years. |

It auto-drafts for you, so new players are there you just can't pick them. It will be patched in later, but I am not paying $60 for a game that is half done. |

our roster depth is at an all time low, seriously if g goes down for any length of time were in serious trouble. - mydoglicks
No it isn't, our roster depth is better than last year.
Giroux is a top 5 center so of course we are screwed if he goes down for months. Pittsburgh is the the only team with two top 5 centers. And the Flyers still have better center depth than most of the league with G, Couturier, BSchenn, Vinny, Laughton, Raffl and White. |

I mean honestly I just play the game so we can play 2v2 or 1v1. I love GM mode and Be A Pro too, but its mostly for fun with friends. We will put down like 5 bucks each and play a best of 7 playoff series. Its really fun with friends. |

I guess to play devils advocate if most teams lost their starting goaltender, top defenseman, or best player for an extended period of time they would be in trouble. Granted some teams are more capable of handling injuries to key players than others.
I think the roster needs improving, but I don't think it's a barren wasteland. There is some good talent. The Flyers need Schenn, and Couturier to continue to develop. - PLindbergh31

I wonder what it would take to get Keumper from Minnesota. He's understandably not keen to play on a two-way deal this year.
Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie 6m
With Niklas Backstrom and Josh Harding under contract, MIN wants Kuemper on two-way contract. Kuemper, after strong playoff, wants one-way.
Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie 22s
Kuemper is looking at his KHL options (with NHL out clause, of course).

Forwards... Sounds like the same old choices. My wish list.
I'd like to see Giroux/Jake and;
1) Simmonds - pro's good replacement for Hartnell, played with them on the PP /con either Jake or Simmonds would have to switch sides
2) Coots - pro's why not try it, he's big, and we're trying get his offensive side going - what's better than playing with Giroux / con leaves open defensive line 3 center role (Schenn, VLC, or Laughton?).
3) Read - He's been there before and he can put the puck in the net / con, he seems to play best with coots.
I'd like to see Berube mix it up in the pre-season, and see what else might work. Break up Giroux/Jake, Coots/Read, Schenn/VLC.
I'd like to see Laughton spend some time in the pre-season on all of the lines. Who knows maybe he clicks with Giroux/Jake.
I'm interested in what Bellemare can do. I hope Akeson does well, but I don't think he will.

Was just looking at TSN and thinking the same thing. What would you give up for him? He's an RFA so I think a 1 or 2 yr contract of 1.5-2 might get it done. I assume you'd want to move Ray?
Also, listening to the Leag GM Nonis on TSN, he is big on a fourth line that can play significant minutes. Said they signed guys that can play 15-17mins not that he expects the fourth line to play it but that they have the depth of those players on the fourth line. Dreamy. |

Has Simmonds ever played LW? That could be an interesting line, think he has the speed?

Personally, I want to put Jake with VLC. Put Simmonds with Giroux, Keep Read with Couturier...and then mix and match to fill in the rest using those pairs.

After Getzlaff, the Ducks have a guy who had two more points than Brayden Schenn, and who hasn't broken 50 points in 3 years. Columbus has a beast in Johansen, but Anisimov had less points than Schenn & I'd rather have Couturier than Dubinsky. And Carolina? Really? Eric & Jordan Staal? Eric is good, but Jordan over Schenn & Couturier? Nah.
Boston is stacked. LA, absolutely. Colorado even with the loss of Stastny is set with their kids. Dallas looks deadly with Seguin & Spezza, and obviously the addition of Stastny makes the Blues really deep. I'd put Pittbsurgh in there ahead of the others, and Richards helps Chicago. |

Agreed, but unfortunately no professional sports team crowd sources what they should do. Wouldn't it be awesome if they did? Vote on line combos for the season opener. There would be huge limits but trying it out once in a while and make it known that that is your business plan. All season ticket holders have a vote on voting issues. Vote each game on a players output. Team awards. What they need to focus on in practice. Etc...
The real question is, would you trust, ohh say Flyers fans (though any fans), to actually vote rationally? Of course not. |
