I'll be there with you, preferably naked and encased in 100 cans worth of silly string and riding a war horse.
Although the war horse will probably be confiscated. - jmatchett383
sounds like a plan. we can always build a large, wooden badger instead though. |

What's the point of exposing yourself if the person's blind? |

The thought of a bunch of dudes pushing a large, wooden badger down Broad Street just brought a chuckle from me. |

I'd go after Water Works AND Electric Company, and maybe buy a railroad or two. - jmatchett383
Not a bad comparison. He's got monopoly money.

Oh certainly. I just think they could use a vet to be around these young 4th line kids heading up to the season. I would only sign Bertuzzi or any other try out if its a two way deal. - hereticpride
Yeah, I can understand that reasoning.
I'd be open to McBain or Diaz..although Diaz accepted an invite to Calgary's camp
EDIT: and McBain is apparently going to be in Phoenix's |

2 arrests were made in the Boogaard case.
1 is a doctor (Johnson) who prescribed a patient (Jordan Hart, the son of New York Islanders legend Gerry Hart) a ridiculous amount of combo analgesics (i.e. percocet, vicodin, etc) for a ridiculously long amount of time. Which is illegal according to Controlled Substance policies enforced by the DEA.
Allegedly, Boogaard became addicted to painkillers during his time with the Wild, and once he was signed in NY, he met Hart, who became his dealer. To make a long story short, eventually, Boogaard was killed by ODing on drugs he bought from Hart.
Just a terrible story. He was in and out of rehab, and when he was granted a leave for a day or 2 he'd find a way to get to NY to make a deal, and this happened on multiple occasions. The article even says one time he left his rehab in California to go a family gathering in Kansas, but made a pit stop in NY to see Hart.

Not to make it seem less wrong, but people love to have someone to blame. Lawsuit happy. Tragic story.

Absolutely it is
But, then again, if someone (frank)ed up, pointing fingers isn't really in the wrong. Look at that doc. He basically facilitated all of this. |

In this case, there is clearly somebody to blame. The doctor took advantage of his profession and facilitated the dealing of controlled substances and a man died from his negligence. Had the doctor not violated the law and his oath, that man would not have had such easy access to the drugs he was addicted to.
The blame isn't the doctor's alone, but to suggest he shouldn't face criminal and financial penalties for his gross misconduct is a bit asinine. Certainly there are many frivolous lawsuits that have created a need for reform. This case isn't one of them. |

I'm probably way Leight as per usual, but I just saw (and was saddened) that Bob Suter, member of the Miracle on Ice team, father of Ryan Suter, and older brother of Gary Suter passed away. 57 is way too young.
If you can find a copy of it and are a reader, I highly recommend Wayne Coffey's* "The Boys of Winter", which is the story of the Miracle on Ice team.
*I have to say when I first picked up the book, I thought the author's name was the nom de plume of a rabid Oilers fan. Apparently, it is his real name.
edit: yep, way leight again. |

|
It is saddening to hear about the passing of Suter
Even more perplexing is hearing about guys younger than me who were high level athletes at one time passing due to heart attacks.
RIP you were part of one the greatest moments in hockey ever. |

I picked up NHL 15 this afternoon and was interested to see Philly's D ranked 90 overall WITHOUT Chris Pronger(76 overall and scratched). Love the game though
Streit - 85
Coburn - 85
AMac - 85
L.Schenn - 84
MDZ - 85
Grossman - 82
Timonen - 83
Shultz - 80 |

So Pegula basically owns Western NY. If I had billions, I think I would find another location to invest it. - PLindbergh31
Hes doing great things for this region to tap its full hockey city potential besides buying the Bills. Id say the Sabres are finally starting to do the right things on every level since Pegula took over |

The only way signing a player such as Bertuzzi to a two way contract, versus a one way contract would benefit the Flyers. Would be if the AHL salary in the deal was 925K or less.
