The Bon Jovi group was looking for bargain basement prices because he doesn't have the flow. - dadeadhead
That's what confuses me. Rogers locked on with Bon Jovi to get the individual front man requirement taken care of. It's really puzzling that they couldn't find someone worth more to solve that...unless Rogers felt he was the only guy who would simply invest the money and let the company call all the shots.

Barring anything dramatic to change things, this was always a one horse race.
The others didn't stand a chance. |

Fair enough, but I also find it hard to believe that they couldn't find someone to compensate for keeping his mouth shut. |

I don't.
Celebrities as a whole have a hard time doing that. |

I'm just glad that for the first time in about 2 decades we don't have to hear about how the Bills may not be here much longer. |

Who else would be ok with being the paper president?
I'm pretty sure no one with the kind of money needed that's in the CEO world would've been good with that. |

The NFL definitely didn't overreact, but I will say this. There's something unsettling to me about anyone and everyone waiting in line to cast a stone. What Rice did was wrong, and socially unacceptable. The Ravens and the NFL did what they needed to do, even if it was delayed. Let's all just collectively move on. |

Oh don't get me wrong, Mayweather is a dumbass, and more than a little bit of a hypocrite. I'm just so sick of hearing about the situation in general.
The worst part of it is I wouldn't be surprised to see people do a complete 180 on this. Ray Rice goes through sensitivity training, is apologetic, and then half the people outraged turn on the NFL for not giving "second chances". That's how fickle people are. |

Regardless of how you feel politically, Bill Maher makes that point all the time and it's dead on. In the age of the internet it gives everyone the balls to point at someone and say how much better you are than that person |

I'll say this, I am not going to run the guy out of the league. Provided he does the right things, things that you mentioned. My entire issue with this is it seems like the NFL tried to cover it up. It was botched from the start. The 2 game suspension then the new domestic violence suspension lengths after the outrage of only 2 games and then trying to back track after the video was released.
Also legally speaking Ray Rice should have a grievance filed on his behalf. He was punished already for what he did a fair or not punishment then he gets punished again by the NFL cause they screwed up? It doesn't seem right. I am fine with the Ravens cutting him but then for the NFL to suspend him indefinitely after already suspending him?
The fact that I am talking about that instead of the important issue that is domestic violence just shows how poorly the NFL handled this. |

He needs to go to jail for a little while, and come back like Vick did.
This incident looks so bad because he pretty much got away with a serious crime. |

Uggggh sadly you're right, I'm waiting for a certain group to start defending him. He deserves every bit of the backlash he's getting. I just don't understand why all of a sudden the second video made people react like this. What did people think he was doing in that elevator massaging her neck. The guy is a complete scum and somehow evaded jail time. He should never get a chance to play in the nfl again. |

Ok so if someone did that to one of your family members you would give them a second chance... If it were one of mine they wouldn't get a chance to breath. |

Look, I'm as glad as anyone the Bills are staying here, but using the Bills in Toronto series is a measure of whether the NFL would or wouldn't "work" up there is somewhat intellectually dishonest. The Bills were a mediocre to terrible team during that whole series. If the team was competent, you'd see more interest. Very few people are willing to shell out that kind of money to watch some of the worst football the NFL has to offer, from a team that isn't even "theirs". If the roles of the Bills and the Patriots had been reversed throughout the 2000s, and the Bills were the team with a first ballot Hall of Fame quarterback and 3 championships, you can sure as hell bet they'd sell that place out. Call it bandwagon. Call it fair-weather. Call it whatever you like, but when you're trying to sell your product to a new market, you show off the best you have to offer, not the second rate shelf model that has multiple dings and scratches. - buffalofan19
When you have a very wealthy city of 5.5 Million people in the Metro and even more in Ontario and you have to make excuses as to why they couldn't sell 55,000 tickets once a year, its a failure.

It was a failure. It was a failure because Rogers bought a piss poor product and tried to resell it to the population. |

For me, it would depend on what happens afterwards. People can get their act together and have done so. It would also depend on my family member that was victimized. If he/she is willing to forgive, then there would be no rhyme or reason for me not to. |

You have a point, but that would be like having the Cleveland cavaliers
(post Lebron) play the Pacers in Buffalo at a high school once a year and not be sell tickets.
John Kryk from the Toronto sun
"Torontonians, by contrast, generally could not have cared less about the possibility of gaining an NFL team, even in recent weeks as the process ramped up. It was as surprising as it was disappointing, frankly, and casts legitimate questions moving forward as to whether Toronto can be regarded as a legit football city anymore, especially in light of the paltry crowds the CFL’s Argos now get." |

It's different though. As a society and our legal system if a person does a crime and then does their time and comes back a rehabilitated person we are supposed to give them a second chance.
Speaking if it was a family member emotionally its a much different feeling and subsequently your reaction would be much different. |

Yes but unfortunately our judicial system did nothing in this matter. So no time was served, IMO he's getting away with a slap on the wrist. This was more than just some minor domestic violence case. He brutally assaulted her to a degree that is inexcusable. |
