If they want to curb the delay of faceoffs, they should tell the linesmen to drop the puck instead of trying to be the show so they can waive players out of the dot. - rmiethaner
Remember when players were supposed to line up on the dot within 7 seconds or something like that? That didn't last long at all.....
or keep their skates outside of the L-shaped lines near the dot?
that never happens either....

Diving fines and changes to tripping are kind of nice though. - stashu
They moved a bunch of infractions to the game mis-conduct group. |

If a player gets a diving penalty the other team should not be getting a penalty as well, I hate that poop. |

You want to increase scoring you say? How about not allowing a PK unit to ice the puck, and no tv timeouts for an icing stoppage. |

That doesn't increase powerplay opportunities. And not letting a team ice the puck down a man will just end up leading to more stoppages (not to mention it seems a bit harsh on the penalized team). |

There isn't TV timeouts when icing occurs |

Sometimes there is though. Not always, but once in a while the team that iced it gets lucky. |

There are most definitely TV timeouts several times during a game when icing occurs |

Not anymore, it's an NHL rule. Can't have a TV timeout after a goal or icing |

NHL Rule 87.1
No warm-up involving pucks on the ice shall be permitted for a goalkeeper or replacement goalkeeper during a time-out. If, after one warning, this continues, the Referee shall assess a delay of game penalty to the offending team.
Television commercial time-out guidelines are established by the League. However, no commercial time-out is permitted after the scoring of a goal. No commercial time-out is permitted after the calling of an icing infraction, except when a penalty or penalties are assessed that affect the on-ice strength of either team. |

I'm excited to see what Risto can do this season in either league. NHL or AHL doesn't matter to me...I just want the kid to be in a positive environment. |

Two great ideas. Icing should only be allowed during 5 on 3. |

I would have to think that Pegula's next venture is a local sports TV station (like Empire used to be), now that he owns every franchise in Buffalo except the Bisons. I bet you would start seeing televised games then. |

It would be nice. I guess it depends on if they feel that it wouldn't be a financial drain though. Production costs are really high from what Ted Black said when I asked about there being more Rochester games televised last year. He said that while we all like to think that Terry has unlimited resources, they do need to be cautious about what costs they're incurring, which makes sense. |

That's all true, but now that he owns the Bills, he would potentially be able to control the content for both teams, which might make it worth while. |

Totally. While an ultimate Pegula sports network would be a dream. Sabres, Bills, Amerks, Bandits, Penn-State hockey, I understand they didn't grow this money on a money tree. I don't expect the guy to hang out broke. Its always easy for people to spend someone else's money in their head. |

Yea. I took a day off from Canal side to get some things on the home front done that have just been piling up and fallen behind on with all the hours at Canal side and trying to get that completed.
We have completed most of the snow melt area (exposed aggregate) of concrete around the canal rink and most of the concrete in general from the inner guts of the site going out.
We have caught up to the site contractor and now waiting on them to prep some more volume for us to go in and hit it hard to the finish.
They want this project done by the middle of October.
Not sure that, is going to happen.
Just can't wait for hockey. |

I've always said that there should be separate penalties for diving and embellishments. |
