It was a promising game from him. With the size we have developing down the middle it certainly gives us the oppotunity to try smaller skilled wingers like holmberg and tkachev which is nice.
- CrustyRooster

I also thought Marco Roy had a good game too, hard on the forecheck and caused some havoc at times.

Yakimov was probably the most notable forward for either team in the first two periods. Never heard of him. What's his story?
- CubanBuffet

Well we drafted him in the third round in 2013, he's 6'5" amd from Yakupov's same very small hometown actually.

He dropped so late because of the "Russian factor" when I guess scouts saw him as first round talent.

Played last year in the KHL and performed well for someone his age before signing a 3-year entry level contract.

With the size and skill in both ends of the ice he has, he is a exciting prospect to have. Probably spends the whole season in OKC adapting to the NA game. Having played pro hockey in Russia should help ease his transition if only a little

He seemed strong on the puck, good hands.
- CubanBuffet

Yeah I am hoping he eventually becomes our 3rd line centre.

He seemed to have more size than I originally thought too. It's way too early to tell but Nurse, Yakimov, Chase, Roy, Slepyshev(maybe) this 2013 draft could be a really solid draft for us and holy do we ever need one

Between him, Yakupov, Slepyshev and Tkachev we may eventually get a pretty solid "Russian Line"

He seems like a pretty solid mid round pick. I'm assuming McTavish and not Tambellini?

How did draisaitl look? One of the Canuck posters said good all around game.

I saw him almost bury a goal in the highlights

Saw some flash from tkachev and yakimov.

Moroz scored some of the type of goals this team needs.

I thought he played pretty well and his speed certainly wasn't an issue. I thought Yakimov and Tkachev were the best players on the ice tonight though.

I thought you might have shook off a little bit of that nagging retard you've been suffering with over the summer. I guess not . Anyways, welcome back.

I asked you this on another thread but I'll ask it here.

Tkachev (sp?). The real or Jabroni? Tell me straight Bubba.

The Real Skills, Jabroni size.

I still am shocked nobody used a 7th on him after he and Barbashev put on a show in the playoffs for Moncton. It's not like there's anything good left in the 7th anyways.

Tkachyov.

How he spells his name in Russian For some reason hockey teams in North America can't handle Y's everywhere.

"Yevgeny Malkin" changed to Evgeni Malkin
"Alexey Yemelin" changed to Alexei Emelin

So he might make a decent AHL'er at best or a KHL'er?

Better or worse than Omark?

Better. He can do more than fancy dangles. Big season upcoming in the Q. If you guys don't sign him he's probably going to be picked in the later rounds next go around.
