This tourney is not a big deal. How many of the forwards on the roster actually played a real game together before this weekend?

Yup it's official Reinhardt is a bust, he didn't produce in two games in a pretty meaningless tourney. It's practically a scrimmage, I would hardly worry about his play this weekend.
- Carubba-Kaleta

No one is saying he's a bust but myself and our all pro blogger noted his lack of production in the prospect tourney's he has played in. What else is there to talk about? How handsome Reinhart looks in blue and gold? Leave that to Mrs Reinhart

Mrs Reinhart , Oh that hurts . When did I ever mention Mr Reinharts looks ? You are the one bringing that up . But hey whatever floats your boat.

More than you have ever done . Should compare resumes sometime . Give it a break . You win the battle of the internet . You are the king.

I'm very sure you do not want to go that route but I don't advertise my resume everyday on hockeybuzz.com like you seem to feel the need to do. But, I'm sure can very proud of it. Concerts are cool.

In fairness, had he been absolutely dominant i bet there would be plenty of people who would try and add more value to this tournament and how those two games automatically mean the birth of a great career. It shouldn't really matter either way. Their pre-season performance will shed more light as to where these players are at in there development.

You think that is all I have on my resume . Hardly. But I admit it you are the best . We should have drafted based on your scouting reports . Tim Murray is clueless as are the rest of his staff .

I was gonna post pretty much the same. It's disappointing they lost because if they killed them, we would be bragging about it.

Seriously though, who cares, seasons in less than a month

If the rookies here do well in pre-season and in the AHL/juniors it more than makes up for this. Nobody will remember this tournament in a month. Disappointing yes but I don't think I'm quite ready to label anyone a bust just yet.

U don't think that your top 9 is better than last year? I do

Rw - Gionta, Stewart, Stafford
Lw - Moulson, Reinhart, Foligno
C - Hodges, Ennis, Girgs

and whoever else could surprise the line-up that I might not know about. Im not saying its top-flight talent, but the east is not that dominant....

Now don't get me wrong, the D is a ? and G is a ? but Nolan is a good coach!!!!

- Ur Not Me

Honestly, that's not a terrible assessment of things. With the return of Kaleta, we should probably assume Teddy Nolan assembles a gutty 4th line as well.

Nolan did lead an underwhelming band of NYI misfits to the postseason, maybe he can rally these troops, and start culminating a fresh identity as soon as next yr?

But while tats all good n plenty.... I need that top 2 pick!!! Better trade Staff & Stewart asap, keep Reinhart in Junior.

You nailed it with this comment. I view it as part of the process. Im sure these guys don't like how this has gone so far for them wearing the Sabres uniform. I'm sure they don't like this feeling.

Badda boom tish!
I was waiting for that... Could be some truth to it...plenty of perimeter play according to the reports..no one taking it hard to the net.

From what I listened to , they were taking it to the net and Ranger goalie was standing on his head . No way to tell without video.

True that, no way for us to tell yet.
That said, the reports I have read and listened to strongly point out a significant play at the perimeters...lots of shots from outside and lots of puck possession from there as well.
To be clear, I too was a Bennett booster...liked his in your face style of play with speed and talent.
That said, I was happy we got Reinhart...not just ok, happy. Different style of play, I much prefer the in your face, sheer determination better as we haven't seen a team ful of it since 199.
Now, to say he is a bust...I didn't read that from anyone...just your assumption of what Bennett boosters are thinking. And you are wrong as for my thoughts.
I laugh at people who make up excuses like it doesn't matter it almost like a scrimmage, or they ran into hot goaltending. Come on, for 2 straight games they ran into hot goaltending? And it doesn't matter.
ALL OF US EXPECTED MORE. It is disappointing they didn't produce . So it causes my awareness to be heightened...something to watch going forward. Maybe our F prospects aren't ready for the bright lights yet. So Unless he and other forwards so more in preseason, I do hope they go back to develop rather than being forced into a situation they aren't ready for.

Why are we arguing about meaningless tournaments? This tourney and the prospect game are during the summer when these kids have barely played any competitive hockey. We haven't seen any of them performing with the players on their respective pro teams, so I'd say this an argument with not a lot of support. I think both players will be good pros, but which one is better can't be predicted off such a small sample size. Wait another 4 or 5 years for that!

This team clearly needs more "Nolan guys". They would have won the tournament without question.

Terry Pegula is a demi-god. The Bills went from 3 point underdogs to a pick 'em on most lines in the span of a week. A couple lines still have Miami at -1.
