Yeah, per his twitter he is back with NJ.com to cover the Flyers this year. I'm almost tempted to get into hockey writing as it appears you can just half-ass your way into a steady job with a journalism degree. I'm just assuming these guys have degrees btw. It really would not surprise me in the slightest if they didn't.

Free time to watch practice/games+ uninformed twitter posts + occasional blog =
profit(for just about every Flyers writer in this city sans Bill and SanFilippo)

Schenns a bust and Vinny is being held together by scotch tape

Well I would be worried if they were using duct tape, obviously hes better if they are using the lightweight desk dispenser stuff, not even the clear packing tape from the dollar store.

Even worse, Randy Miller is back and is already trying to stir poop up with Snider's comments.

He'll never be a pocket QB, most if not all of his injuries have been leaving the pocket.

I'm in the minority on this, from reading the posts, but I honestly believe one full season under Terry Murray in the AHL would be an amazing thing for Scott Laughton, considering the improved talent level of the Phantoms.

I understand what everyone is saying about how Laughton could help the big club, and I don't necessarily disagree that he wouldn't. But I just truly believe that one season in the AHL -- hell, even a half-season -- would really help him ultimately be a better professional hockey player.

I look at the Kings, and how they brought along Tyler Toffoli and Tanner Pearson...that's how I'd do it. It's not a crime or punishment to be in the AHL and learn how to produce in roles of responsibility.

It might help the D men out as well to have a strong Center prospect down there. I would be okay with Laughton doing a year in the AHL, letting Vinny run the 3rd line this year before looking to move him next summer to let Laughton step in.

They could let Laughton play 4th line C this year as well but getting him the ice time he needs isnt going to be easy unless you ask him to play wing.

Fair enough. Since no one is picking them to win the SC anyways maybe it's best for the long term. I just know it would be exciting to see him play in the NHL this year.

I'd want him there.

You may as well give Belle a full chance up with the big club. Leave Laughton in the AHL and make that team a champion. I think such experience will be highly beneficial to all the kids down there we hope to have an impact from in future years.

Give him the #1 Center spot in the A.

Could be good bye Vinny, hello Coots to the 2nd line, and Laugton is the new Coots. I am liking the thought of that

annoying that the Flyers wont put numbers on jerseys in camp. they did that last year.

And that, in a nutshell, is why Tim Panaccio is the greatest sports journalist who has ever lived.

He can but with the amount of pure centers we have I don't see it happening. It also probably isnt very realistic that Vinny starts the season pulling 4th line duty.

I definitely don't think it'd hurt to have a full AHL season, but on a 4th line with competent players, playing 10+ minutes a night! Laughton will get a wealth of benefit.

If you're doing that, why not dump Rinaldo, move Umberger to the 4th line and play Laughton between Raffl & Akeson?

Could be wrong, but I think its a lock you see Rinaldo opening night.
