That's why the qualifier probably is in there. At 6-7 and 225 lbs he has the phsyical tools. There's a difference between playing and playing well. But that point was basically made to say that the raw skills and phsyical tools are there. Just needs to be refined. And there is a huge difference between a player that needs to refine and develop his skills, versus a player who is lacking those raw skills. Which the latter is what your post made it sound like.

He's 5'11" 170 lbs right now so I don't think the inch would make much of a difference but the 15 pounds (of muscle) would be huge. Either way, I think size can be overrated at times. Unless the player is really small or really big/fat, it probably doesn't make that big a difference.

The bottom line is going to be is if he can play, he can play. I just hope he doesn't have an issue with the physical play, because it seems like his puck and offensive skills are top notch. I've read some reports that state that calling him 5'11" is a stretch, no pun intended.
