Akeson with Vinny or else the Phantoms. He can't be a fourth liner in the traditional sense. - NickTheKid87
I hear ya. Its just 4th lines are very traditional anymore. I think we need to get away from that. |

Either way your still wrong. What makes PEB the more accomplished player? PEB is about to make a big step should he earn a spot. - SuperSchennBros
He is saying that PEB now, is a more accomplished player compared to Raffl this time a year ago, and it is true.

PEB is a more accomplished player now, than Raffl was a year ago. This very simple, uncontroversial statement is understandable to everyone here but you. |

Raffl was playing in the Swedish 2nd-tier league. Pedobear's been a star in the top league for years and has multiple championships. |

Raffl has a point in the NHL playoffs though. |

Yes but to me this is like saying Tavares is more accomplished then Giroux. |

Ville Leino also had international success before coming to the NHL. |

Wait.. what?
It is nothing like that.
All we are saying is that if you had two players this off season, one of which was a SHL star and perennial power player on his National team, and the other is a Tier II Swedish leaguer, the odds are the SHL star has a higher pedigree. |

Yes, Ville Leino was more accomplished at the time he came over than Raffl, too. |

Fair enough. Dopita was once a player who was named the best player not playing in the NHL before we signed him. To me bringing players into the NHL means clean slate. I will admit to being entirely unaware of over seas success but we've seen this before in other players. Leino is another one. It means nothing. |

Dude.. I dont know what you misread, but we are not saying that PEB will be the next NHL superstar.
All we are saying is that he is a very accomplished global player. He has had success in every league he has played in. Raffl was not nearly as accomplished.
DONE that was it.
NOW.. we have to wait and see how he does here. Maybe next summer we will reflect on this and say... crazy how terrible of a year Raffl had. Maybe we will say the same about PEB, but HOPEFULLY we can say they both are great fits for the Flyers. |

when you bring up superstardom and championships, it kind of sounds like you are bringing up the fact that he might become a superstar. |

That is where you need to buckle up and read with context.
Nobody is saying that the 29 year-old vet of over seas league is the next Giroux/Tavares.
Instead, we are suggesting he may be able to lock down a 4th line job without an AHL interview. |
