I don't think I sign a two year old deal. 6-6.5 is a huge jump but in today's market I don't see 4-4.5 being out of hand. - mayorofangrytown
You are probably right.
I think CBJ would sign him for 2 yrs 8M and be happy to get it done.
I don't see them going to 6+ per yr for a bridge deal RFA even for Johansen.
They may end up paying him 6+/yr if the deal goes longer and includes some of his UFA eligible years in it. |

He isnt light years ahead of Tavares. Tavares is getting better too. As of now though there is no real argument for Tavares. - GOA88
Tavares was a Hart finalist (one of your pluses for Giroux). He's led a very unassuming team to the playoffs and they almost upset the Penguins (not that MAF tried to stop them). He's much more consistent than Giroux, as well.
Again, not saying either is better, but it's not like Giroux's some multi-Hart winner with a handful of Cup rings. |

I know. Only an Islanders fan or a Giroux skeptic would'nt. - GOA88
Tavares is a great hockey player, but I don't think he's at Giroux's level just yet.
Tavares has been a name in hockey circles for a long time (Giroux had to actually try out for his junior team; Tavares was practically given the red carpet treatment), so he's going to get the benefit of the doubt from many. |

I get what you're saying. There is no hardware for Giroux to take the cake so to speak. Cup rings and Hart trophys dont mean as much as one would think though. Its more of a team effort for both. Giroux was more deserving of the Hart Trophy this season over Crosby and Getzlaf. Just cause Crosby scored that many pts it doesnt make him a MVP of the league. The Pens have already proven they can win without Crosby AND Malkin. Both at the same time for that matter. Flyers are clueless without Giroux. Getzlaf has Perry and the Ducks are a much better team overall than the Flyers. Am I getting what MVP actually means right? |

I view a MVP candidate as the player that contributes the most offensively. Your star player. Winning the cup is no doubt a team effort. But when it comes to awards its individuals. Sure the Penguins and Ducks can win without Crosby or Getzlaf but those players are the MVPs of their respective teams. They have other great talents but those players are the stars of the team. |

It's going to blow if that's the only camera position they're using. How can the Caps do it so much better? It's ridiculous. |

Go to the caps website. At least they're providing a play by play guy. No idea what the view will be but if it's the same we'll at least have someone to tell us what's happening.
The Flyers should be ashamed of themselves. Afterwards they'll boast about how many people were there and how many more streamed their crappy feed live.
Edit: Looks like the feed will be the same. |

Their new media presence has always been disappointing... I still can't get over how bush league the Flight Plan production was.
You got a link to the Caps' feed? Not seeing it on their site... maybe I'm blind. |
