Like I siad previously, setting a new fan record for fastest bail out on a team in NHL history. What is it, the 2nd day of training camp? - MJL

Easily. I'd say the draft, at the latest July 4th |

Some fans bailed out the day we did the Carter/Richards/Bryz deals. That was like 3 months before camp opened. |

I think Ryan has a slight edge as a goal scorer. Simmonds was tied for 12th overall in the NHL in scoring among RW's last year. And that's with first unit PP time, but 2nd line at ES. If Simmonds played with Giroux, do you think his point totals would be boosted? How about if Simmonds played with Getzlaf and Perry.
Ryan is a good scoring forward, but highly overrated in my opinion by many. - MJL
On a Forsberg, Gagne and Knuble type of line, I view Simmonds as a Knuble type in terms of creating space and being a net presence but I view Ryan as a Gagne type in terms of scoring. Forsberg and Gagne to me are the skilled talent and Knuble was that guy who might have sacrificed points on that line for success. |

I'm guessing that's a photo of Byfuglien about 4-6 hours after leaving Golden Corral? - BiggE
I wish Byfuglien was on the Flyers. He'd be their best dman by a country mile. |

I'd love Byfuglien if we didn't already have both Streit and Del Zotto. |

Yeah, I'll take Coburn over Byfuglien. At least big nose won't accidentally sit on Giroux and crush him to death on the bench!

I would take Streit over him as well. |

Byfuglien gets a bad rap for not being in the best of shape. Doesn't cause him to miss games. He's not great in his own end, but how many Flyers D men are? By my count it would be zero. On the offensive side of the puck he'd be the Flyers best dman not even debatable. |

Ok, I'll play along. What Flyers dmen are better all around than Byfuglien? |

His contributions to moving the puck, carrying it into the zone and work on the powerplay would be tremendous improvements for this team.
Yes, he's not great in his own end. |

You beat me to the Coburn to Byfuglien comparison.
I love Hockey Night in Canada if the Flyers aren't playing. They seem to continue teaching as games go on both during intermission and throughout a game. One night they posted clips of Byfuglien in one game. There is no question that he's talented and I don't know if it's because he lacks staying in shape but watching this guy give up defensively some nights if brutal. Doesn't look interested, stops playing, slow to read the play, gets caught chasing, all in the defensive zone. |

Byfuglien can score his 50+ pts.... but he is an actual liability in the D-zone.
-20 last season and has been a minus his whole career. Thats no mistake. Streit is a better all-around player. He just lacks the size Byfuglien has. Also if Im looking for a defenseman, I would choose Coburn, Schenn & MacDonald over him in that aspect. I am not a Byfuglien fan. |

So Coburn, Streit, MacDonald, and Schenn are all better than Byfuglien?
Make a case for Lauridsen and Manning being better too. I'm all ears. |

He could use more upper body strength. Looks boyish in that regard. |
