I think you slot Vinny in as your #1 at that point. We all say he needs a good setup man/puck handler, and Jake's second best on the team in those departments.

Well that's just wonderful. Hopefully it's nothing too serious as he apparently seemed to be walking fine afterwards towards the locker rooms. Fortunately the regular season doesn't start for another 3 weeks or so. If he has to sit out a few pre-season games so be it.

Obviously he's no Giroux but I think he could fill in admirably as 1C for a bit if he needs too. Jake would have to do the Lion's share of puck carrying but I think we could get by for a little while.

Better to be safe than sorry with the first real game almost three weeks away.

My feeling is that Schenn is a chicken and egg player. It seems that he needs bigger minutes to find his game, but cant find his game until he gets bigger minutes.

Maybe now they have no choice but to run him out there for 20 plus a night. Hopefully he responds positively.

Based on the way he played in Toronto, you are correct. When he was playing 20+ a night including penalty kills, he was very effective. 15 a night, not so much.
