Bills game was disappointing...I thought they had a chance...but when your D-line underperforms, and the secondary doesn't stay within 5 yards of any receiver, and the team shoots themselves in the foot with excessive penalties, not hard to imagine a loss is in order. Can Hacket figure out how to use Spiller sometime this decade? And EJ showed his inaccuracies in spades...man he almost had Gooodwin get killed, and was so far off on many, many passes. They need to fix that or we will be forever frustrated.
Oh well, onto to Houston to meet Fitzgerald.

We had plenty of time to come back in the 2nd half. The D only gave up 20. The play calling on offense and EJ overall was awful.

Prospects games lays eggs, first preseason game another egg. Not ready for primetime but at least let us notice you, show why you were the 2nd pick in the draft. You do know the 2nd pick is right after the 1st, correct? Usually they make the team and they show something, especially against prospects, many who will never see the NHL in their life.

Whatever, hopefully next game he plays and he shows something, anything. The Sabres need him to be a dominent talent down the road.

Played against boys and dominated. Now playing a faster game against men there are going to be growing pains, most of his supporters realize and understand this. It takes time, cut the kid some slack. He most likely wont be on this team by seasons end anyway.

Watched about a period this morning, was pretty depressing watching from both sides of the fence. Nathan Walker threw a beauty of a hip-check on Karbachak(??), Walker is the first aussie in the NHL

I think ej missed 2 or 3 wide open throws that he should have made. Also he had a few bad reads.
Our offensive line didn't really get a good push for the running backs and got smoked for a safety facing only a 4 man rush.
It was a fairly close game. San Diego made a few more plays than buffalo did. Bubble screen for big yards, 1 deep ball and a safety with only a 4 man rush.
Our defense, in the first half, did not pressure rivers, gave up a lot of yards against the run and had a few blown coverage.
I don't think ej played a good game but it's not fair to solely place the blame on him.

I really hope not. I can't speak to most of the Reinhart supporters here but I liked him as our pick because he was the safest of the bunch. The forwards of the future desperately needed a a consistent two way centre and I figured Reinhart to be the guy.

However, this is exactly why I place so much value on this years draft. I can't really speak to the depth but It's incredibly top heavy, that is to say the top 6 or 7 this year seem to have more "elite" or "franchise" potential than last years draft.

I feel like Reinhart can be a number 1 centre but I'm not sure him on his own will be enough. I think were short a game changer at any position. If they can't land one at the 2015 draft either via trade or outright drafting i will be gutted.

Mike Williams plays under 20 snaps, Maquise Goodwin can't get touched without being injured for weeks (which is why he's no longer returning kicks)

He isn't playing to our players strengths again.

And yes EJ was bad

Which is a terrible assumption. He's been picked off 1 time. His completion percentage is around 63% which isn't bad its not great just not bad (its better than Brady's). He needs to keep progressing. He isn't a finished product. The real test will be how does he bounce back.

People keep complaining about Stephon Gilmore too which is odd. There were 6 big plays by the Chargers yesterday and none of them were on Gilmore. He missed a tackle.....

I can tell you why. Because we're all Buffalo fans. There's 2 kinds of us. Those of us that still try to find the positive in the terrible that we've had to deal with (I'm one of those) and those that will find every little thing to complain about (even when they win).
