So you'd say that Ghost already has top 4 skating a puck skills? If that's true, we're in a good spot with him if he only needs a year or two in the A to refine his game. - Hextall271
I think he does. The guy just oozed offensive skill. Now, I'm not saying he's ready for top-4 NHL duty now, or that he'll definitely be in 2 years, or that he ever will be. He could be the next Danny Syvret. But I think he's ready for NHL duty in 2 years as a bottom-pair, PP QB who can grow into a top-4 player in 3-4 years. |

You're bringing me down man... They haven't even played the first preseason game and you're dumping on our prospects. - mayorofangrytown
I'm not dumping, I'm just trying to keep things in check. I'm very excited about these guys but I also realize that it's unreasonable to believe they'll be the backbone of a Cup contender. We've got some potentially valuable pieces but they're by no means the solution. |

LETS GET THIS SEASON STARTED!!!!
I was going to buy tickets for the London since I live here but the price they are charging is ridiculous $100 to see some rookies and a couple vets no thanks. Guess I'm planning out my road trip to PHILLY - Bigjohnston
I'm a season ticket holder, so there's nothing worse than laying down ~$100 per seat on a preseason game. It's highway robbery. |

It's not negativity, it's realism. I'm just as excited as the next guy but sometimes our imaginations run away with themselves. Ideally, the FLyers future defense would be anchored by two legit top pairing dmen in Sanheim and Morin with the elite offensive skills of Ghost and the good two way ability of Hagg but we don't live in an ideal world. |

Crazy, because you think the Devils would want to do something like this with the Flyers to bring revenue (even a little revenue from concession sales) to the franchise.
OTOH, Josh Harris should be used to owning a team that makes less money and draws less fans than the Flyers. - johndewar
what on earth could the reason be? |

I will take my chances on these young guys any day than overpay for a FA or trade. But I just looks like people are getting ahead of themselves with these young players. - NickTheKid87
None of these young guys have ever played in an NHL regular season game, so I don't think people can say either way. They could all end up as Oskars Bartulis/Andy Sutton, or they could all be Eric Desjardins/Chris Pronger. All I know is that, for once, we have some serious top-end potential with our D prospects. |

I agree, which is why I'm saying that we should keep in the middle. Don't assume they'll be busts or superstars. Expect what's probable. I guess we're getting into ideological territory though. |

every single one of them is going to be better than bobby orr. the flyers are going to have to unretire barry ashbee's number so they can fight over it. |

But you also don't believe otherwise until things develop a bit further along, they are still years away, nobody has a clue what will happen with them and their development. |

What makes it unreasonable? It's September 2014. Who know what the future holds? It's just as unrealistic to believe they won't develop as there's just supposition, extrapolation and guess work being done at this point.
We have all season to complain about the players on the ice and why Giroux can't seem to start the season healthy. |

Why would you not believe otherwise? The ideal scenario is not the most probable. I choose to believe the most probable and that falls somewhere between the ideal and the "SNAFU" scenario. |

I know it's not ideal, but again we have no idea in reality what will happen, so I won't go all or even partial negative about them or their development.

Considering all outcomes, especially the most probable, is not being negatively solely because I refuse to only consider the ideal outcome. |
