Probability isn't an inexact science?
It's not so much about saying he will or won't be a #1. It's about how that opinion is formed.
I don't think the Flyers would have drafted him with the 11th pick if he had a AHL skill set. - MJL
I get what you're saying, but it's more likely that Morin will develop into a 2 or 3 dman vs. a #1 dman. I'm not saying there's no chance he won't be a #1. Impressing in camp is one thing but turning into a #1 dman is another. |

I forgot to say this after Ek's blog a week or so ago, but he thinks Ryan Ellis is undoubtedly a top pairing dman. Why don't we just acquire him for a 4th rounder and call it a season? |

Anyone else just happy to have enough top d prospects to debate whether or not they'll be top pairing defensemen? |

a bit disappointed the 3rd jersey is the WC retread. it's ok, and it's orange, and t hey didn't (frank) with the logo, so it could be worse. i'm not surprised they did this, as it required zero time, effort, and money.
anyway, found this concept today from someone last year. a bit plain, but i dig it.

I like the WC Redux. They're sharp looking and they're not some half assed attempt to transfer the Viet Cong look to the NHL |

I keep getting the same thing. Why is it more likely? Tell me what about Morin specifically, in your opinion, shows that it's more likely that he becomes a 2 or 3? I'm not going to say you're wrong, because none of us truly know. And I don't know enough about the player to state that anyone is wrong about him.

He also said he was Nashville's 3rd best defenseman behind Weber and Jones. I'll take Josi over Ellis.

The fact that he's 19 and still a relatively unknown commodity. He has no NHL experience. How can you say that he's more likely to be a #1? |

Looks more like a practice jersey imo
I wanted a black one as well. Maybe sandwich the orange swoosh and trim with thin white on each side, and make the cuffs the same?
Moot at this point, but whatever |

I hate them. I'm anti-black jerseys, because it generally leads to an entirely black kit, and I find that to be tedious. |

Every player drafted at one time or another had no NHL experience, and was 19 at one time. I'm not at all saying that he's more likely to be a #1, and haven't stated that. |

This is my second season with Hockeystreams.com and I couldn't ask for more for a little over a hundred bucks. I was tentative switching from center ice but it was worth it. You can watch both games there. |

What I'm getting at is to try and discuss Morin as a player, and an individual. As an example, an opinion on Morin such as someone doesn't think he's going to handle the puck well enough, or have his offensive game develop well enough to become a true #1 NHL defenseman.
No right or wrong. But just talking about the players as individuals.
You've made yourself clear in that you grouped all of the Flyers defenseman into one big bowl and talked about probabilities of all of them reaching their potential. And that it's more likely that he becomes a 2 or a 3.
But other then offering suspect ratings from Hockey futures, nothing has been offered specifically about any of the players. |
