Fleury was there last year so not sure why you brought that up.
Isn't Hornqvist the same player Neal was when he came over from Dallas? Without the stupid penalties.
Erhoff was a good signing.
Letang is healthy...for now.
I doubt any coach that looks at the roster will play a different style....and I fail to see any reason why should not be at least as good as last year. - stormeyAlterEgo
you're probably onto something Eric... |

Aside from the fact that I think Neal was/is a much much better player than Hornqvist... I agree with ya, Pittsburgh will be fine....
...
Not the powerhouse the Habs will be but fine. - Scabeh
Put Hornqvist with Malkin instead of Legwand and it's closer than you think. |

I think Boston's still the cream of the crop, but hard to argue they're as good as they were last year.
I think Pittsburgh is in trouble. I don't see them at the top of the conference. They'll make the playoffs, but they have a huge amount of change to deal with.
As for Tampa Bay, granted Bishop was great last year. And even if he's not great this year, they have some talent behind him. And I acknowledge they improved, but I find everyone is prematurely putting them on a pedestal. I don't think they're better than the Canadiens. - EricEngels
Tampa improved a lot. They replaced Salo by Stralman, added Garrison. And up front they lost St-Louis but are adding Connolly and Drouin, two of the top prospects in the game who look ready for prime time. They also added good grinders in Brian Boyle and Morrow. Plus their roster that is shaped up of a lot of young players is one year older. Panik, Johnson, Kucherov, Palat, Brown and Killorn are not rookies anymore.
Tampa is the favorite to me in the East. |

Actually, I think the Boston mystique is wearing off. Chara is slowing down and Rask looked very ordinary agaist the Habs last season. They got beat by the Habs in the playoffs and needed a miracle comeback against the Leafs the year before.
I think Montreal may finish better than Boston. I just wouldn't bet money on it.

Tampa and the Coyotes are poised to win all of the existing and non-existing awards this season.

Very true. The sophomore slump doesn't hit every player either. I'm sure you'll agree that the more you play, the more you know what to expect. Experience is priceless, especially for young players.

... remember, the Habs have the most cynical fanbase here and they are very mean and hurtful, especially Mr. Peanut.

With that said, Habs should be better than Tampa... you know with all the experience acquired in the playoffs. |

Yeah, I'm thinking the Bruins will start to slow down a little.
Well, I hope, anyway. |
