The worse thing is...they are actually very good hockey players.

There is no way he could possibly have been at 100%. That break was similar to Joe Theisman. |

Obviously, Tampa got better. it's undeniable. But so did Montreal. The difference is that there are a lot of new faces on Tampa--specifically in prominent roles. Montreal's core hasn't changed really at all. They're a very tight group.
Eager to see how Tampa responds to playoff failings, and with their coach. He's a great coach, and I'm eager to see what he learned from the playoffs too.
I don't believe the Lightning are better than the Canadiens. - EricEngels
Tampa didn't really fail. They did get swept, but it wasn't very easy for the Habs to win those games. Injuries hit them hard. Stamkos was playing on one Leg and Lindback was horrible in replacement of Bishop. They also lost Palat for a few games IIRC. He was a real game changer when he was playing.
The failures came from Callahan and Lindback, not from the kids.
Stralman is a big upgrade over Salo who couldn't follow the pace anymore. Garrison will be playing behind Hedman and Carle. A lot of money for a 3rd pairing Dman you'll say, but he's good enough to play as a #4 on most teams.
Tampa has more depth up front, and now will have a legitimate shutdown line with Morrow-Boyle-Brown. They have one of the best D squad in the league.
The sole question mark to me is Bishop. Is he the real deal or a one year wonder? |

No you don't understand. Tampa did not lose because Bishop wasn't there. It was all the Habs' wonders.
But if Price had been there against the Rangers... |

a lot of weakness became evident in the playoffs.
While Chara's play has deteriorated a bit...he's still a top 5 D in the league IMHO. The bigger concern is that guys like Lucic and Marchand have forgotten how to play hockey and are more concerned with the Big Bad Bruins mystique.
That falls on the coach. - stormeyAlterEgo

i thought Montreal outplayed Tampa for the most part. it's not like Carey Price was all that sharp in the series. he was mediocre in games 1, 3 and 4. similarly, i'm not sure Price would have made a difference in the Rangers series. NY outplayed Montreal overall. |

Price could've outplayed Lundqvist, while Tokarski was holding the fort the best he could. Price could've stolen it for the Habs, the Rangers were beatable. Sad thing is that we'll never know for sure |

Yes.
But it can only take a hot goalie to make such a domination irrelevant, like Theodore in 2002. Could have applied to Bishop or Price. We'll never know, BUT LET'S TALK ABOUT IT FOR MONTHS! |
