are you telling me my 'undefeated season' is going to be ruined tonite?
- canucksnaphook

We need to lose, dammit. Every year that they go undefeated in pre-season, it creates the stupid "October Cup" mentality and they poop the bed. I'd rather them be middle of the pack during those times and turn it up in the latter months.

That or just (frank)ing be consistent year round, god damn them

I'm still a believer he should have been sent back too. Are you telling me he was/is perfect with no flaws?

I just think guys should work on their weaknesses in a place where their confidence won't be hurt when a mistake is made.

I think Nylander should play overseas or on the Marlies. A few bad games with the Leafs could hurt his confidence. We have nothing but upside if the team waited.

Bingo!
Unless he blows the barn doors off.

9 Games on the Leafs, then off to lead the Marlies to the Calder cup. I'd much rather he play in NA

Yeah, I know. It's just the same song and dance every year. Now I can feel that all-too-familiar glimmer of hope starting to creep in and I know, I just (frank)ing KNOW that it's going to be crushed into smithereens by April.

This team has broken me...

Dont let it creep in.

Remember its pre-season....it means ABSOLUTELY nothing.
Would you be freaking out if they were 0-2?

Yeah I know, there isn't really any rhyme or reason to it or any sort of correlation between pre-season and regular. I'm just in thick of the Blue and White disease right now.

I'm super glad Hockey's back, but I just know my heart will be ripped out by the end.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are literally a first-hand trip through the stages of manic-depression

I think he's on par with where Reimer was when he was the up-and-coming stud goalie in the system.

Eventually, the kid's play has to fall down to earth, right?

He's the same goalie. Big, fairly athletic, needs to work on rebounds. Plays on confidence, which is very high right now.
