how much of that revenue would be cannibalized from the Leafs? even if the answer is "very little", that's a big ass hurdle to jump, and it's something the league needs to take into account.

What would they cannibalize? Gate revenue? Nope. TV revenue? No. Merchandise sales? Probably not. Media attention? Definitely no considering the owners.

I just don't see any jeopardy to the maple leaf brand. I could see the CFL, NBA, and MSL having more issues with a second NHL team in town.

Before Pegula there was a fear of repercussions for the Sabres if another team was added in southern Ontario. Not sure if that's the case anymore.
